I turned my back and took a few steps.
“Dominic!”
I paused, held back my laugh, and faced him with the same mask of fury reminiscent on his face.
“You will stay.” Silence filled our space, then: “Rolando will go.”
“What?!” Rolando screamed, incensed. “I will do no such thing!”
Dameon’s brows dipped. “You will if I say you will.”
I stepped in. “Let him stay. There are problems only he can fix.” I pulled out a phone, tapped the screen, and held it toward Dameon. Rolando eased closer to view the video and witness his capos—smoking and seemingly distracted from their duties.
A flagrant rise of expletives dropped from Dameon’s mouth.
“I will visit Bruno to ensure he doesn’t need my assistance. While I’m away, Rolando will fix what is broken and prove that he deserves to stay.”
I eyed Rolando, and he glared at me, but I’d just done him a favor while looking out for my own best interest. The trip to Italy wasn’t because I wanted to give Rolando another chance but rather to get closer to the next mark on my list. Rolando had just opened the door to give me an excuse to take the jet, and I didn’t have to watch him to make sure his eyes weren’t on me.
He had a task now; to show his strength in the Lucas Cosa Nostra and prove to his boss that he was worthy of the position. It was perfect, and I was so pleased that I needed to bust a nut.
My thoughts shifted to Penelope. I inhaled a deep breath, and her scent, still on my mouth, filled my nostrils. I licked my lips and retasted her, as I considered going back to her home and fuckin’ her persistently.
But the recourse I needed now would surely split her forcefully if I stuck my cock in her, and I had to question myself: why did I care?
Usually, when I wanted or needed something, I got it. No one said no to me, even if they were harmed in the process. But now, for some odd fuckin’ reason, I wanted Penelope to experience only pleasure from me. Yet, I also would like that pleasure to accompany pain. It's what drove my engine.
I was fuckin’ twisted. I took no responsibility and blamed Dameon for the growth of the twisted corridors of my soul.
This was what life handed me. And I played the cards I was dealt.
“One week,” Dameon said. “And you come back here. Meet me for dinner. You and me only.”
“Yes, Father.”
I left without glancing at Rolando. But I knew his anger had reached a boiling point.

Light conversation filled the classroom as we waited for the professor to arrive. I checked my watch and glanced around, but my mind remained with Dominic. After he left me sprawled on the bed soaking wet, I crawled under the cover and fell asleep without putting up a fight about him leaving.
This morning while brushing my teeth, I imagined the bristles on the toothbrush nibbles from his mouth and almost tongued my toothbrush. A smile curved my lips, and I dropped my head to hide my blush.
Emma, Alice, and Sofia, slid into adjacent seats.
“Since none of you have asked, I should tell you I took your advice.”
Simultaneously, Emma, Alice, and I looked at Sofia.
“Which was?” Emma asked.
“I’ve been ignoring Ethan. He’s tried to get my attention at every turn, and I’ve shoved him off. I can tell it hurt his feelings, by the way.”
“I don’t remember advising you to ignore him,” I said.
Her eyes widened, and she shrieked, “What?”
