Page 45 of His Wife

Chapter One

Twenty-one looked really good on Leigh. This wasn’t even because of her Upper-Eastside Manhattan upbringing, which ensured that she had everything her little heart desired, but because she was just a really pretty girl. She wasn’t a natural blonde, but blonder looked really good on her, and this, coupled with her perfect breasts, and tight perky ass, made her an exceptionally attractive female. Not that she thought so. Knobby knees, flabby thighs, and a muffin top! she thought as she stood surveying herself, frowning, in front of her full-length mirror.

She had a few friends, three to be exact, and these girls were closer to her than even her own parents. Dan Harper, her father, was always traveling for business, and Jen Harper, her mother, was always at one social event or another. So, for most of her life she’d been raised by nannies and caregivers, maids and the rest of the staff at her parents’ very large penthouse. And then, from about the age of sixteen, she and her friends had done a fairly decent job of raising each other.

Ashely, Heather and Dani were not unlike Leigh. Their parents were always busy, doing everything that they thought necessary to sustain their lifestyles, giving their children credit cards and family names that both carried real weight, and trusting that this would be enough to keep their girls happy. It wasn’t, not really, but all four of the young women had turned out well enough. Leigh, though, had a side to her that was unlike the other three. Every chance she got, she veered off the beaten track, doing things that you would never expect a prissy, Upper-Eastside princess to do. She wasn’t a rebel. She just had a taste for dangerous situations, and for things that would put an incredibly deep frown on her parents’ faces. At ten she’d started a fire with a magnifying glass that entailed calling the fire department. At eleven she’d fallen off the roof of a building being constructed and broken some ribs. At twelve she’d dived into a dumpster, and had to cry for help in order to be rescued. At age thirteen she tried making a bomb in a bag using instructions from the internet. You get the picture.

And throughout her teen years Leigh was adventurous and experimental with the numerous boys she dated. She’d met the love of her life many times, and then found out that he wasn’t. She tried a delightful variety of types and kinks, and looked toward her adult years with anticipation and just a little dread.

Chapter Two

Now she is twenty-one, and she has another rebellious idea that she knows won’t go down well with her friends. They have grown up now, and they are, in fact, all in their final year of college. But she knows that nothing has changed for the three girls she considers her family, knowing that they are still so brainwashed by their upbringing that they will find it difficult to venture out into the dark side.

They are all home for their midyear summer vacation, so they have resumed one of their rituals which they’ve had since they became friends, almost ten years ago. From the time they were ten or eleven, these four girls would go to a spa and get a variety of treatments, massages, manicures, pedicures, facials. They are young, yes, but youth is not an excuse not to spoil yourself, if you are rich!

Leigh is getting ready for this, in the shower, thinking of the possible responses she will get to her request.

As she dries herself, and then moisturizes, she feels the excitement of this new idea tugging at her. For most of the year, she is a good girl. She’s been a very good girl in fact, focused on her studies, and keeping her nose relatively clean. But once a year she is allowed to do whatever she wants, and she really wants to share these experiences with her friends. Still, she knows that it will certainly not go down well with them.

Ashley will probably want to go to Cabo. She’d always loved Cabo, and she would definitely want the four of them to take a trip to this sun-soaked area. It is, after all, the summer, so it just makes sense that she will want to go somewhere with a beach. Her family also owns a place there, and they’ve often had more than just a little fun at the beachfront mansion. Leigh knows that this is what Ashley will try and push, suggesting it in her usual, non-aggressive yet forceful way. But Leigh will not be deterred. It is her birthday, and the girls will do what she wants to do.

Dani, another summer baby, will probably suggest Cancun. They all have fond memories of Cancun, but this is certainly not the type of party that Leigh wants. She doesn’t need the beach, doesn’t need the beachfront bars and restaurants and the five star hotels. And while she loves the diving in Cancun, this is her twenty-first birthday, and she certainly doesn’t plan on spending it floating about in the warm waters of this coastal paradise. They can always go to Cancun some other time; any time, in fact. She wants to do something dirty and dangerous to mark this milestone in her life.

Heather is different. She loves the snow. She really loves the snow. So she will probably suggest a trip to the Swiss or French Alps. Ashley and Dani will hate this. Leigh wouldn’t mind, at least not normally. She is as at home in the snow as she is in the water, so a trip to the French Alps would be nice. Another time, though. Not this time. Not this weekend. Come Saturday, she plans on going somewhere she has always wanted to go, and she plans on going there with all three of her friends.

As she leaves the penthouse, a town car is waiting for her already downstairs because driving back after a day at the spa is not a plan. She starts to go through the conversation she will have with her friends in her head. She tries to sound as convincing as she can, at least to herself, knowing that it will take a lot more than just her smooth tongue and pretty face to convince the girls. They will really need to be sold on the idea, and if not, then she knows that they will do it rather begrudgingly. That wouldn’t be much fun.

Leigh cares about what her friends think. She cares about what makes them happy and comfortable. But she also wishes that they would step out of their comfort zones occasionally, of their own accord, without any coercion from her. She isn’t holding her breath though, knowing that you can take the girl out of Manhattan, but it is much more difficult to evict Manhattan from the girl. The idea that she can un-Manhattan her friends is one that she has given up on a long time ago.

Still, she is determined to try as often as the opportunity arises, and these opportunities arose only on her birthday!

Arriving at the spa, she sees all three of them already there, already in thick, luxurious, white robes, ready to start the day of equally luxurious pampering treatments. After their usual air kisses and casual pleasantries, Leigh gets undressed, donning her own robe, ready for the day, and also ready for the barrage of suggestions that her friends are obviously dying to make. She knows that she will have to let them down easily, not wanting to hurt any of their feelings, but knowing that she will not recant on the idea that had firmly taken root in her mind!

Chapter Three

“So, I was thinking,” Dani starts, and Leigh holds her breath. Here we go, she thinks. It is starting already. Dani doesn’t even wait for them to finish their massages, speaking as soon as the masseuse lays her hands on her beautiful back.

“Let me guess, Cancun?” Leigh says, cutting straight to the chase and nipping Dani’s suggestion in the bud immediately.

“How did you know?” Dani asks, sounding like she’s had the wind knocked out of her sails. She really doesn’t want to be predictable, but that is clearly what she is.

“And Ash, Cabo… Heather, the French Alps?” Leigh continues, sounding like she is able to read their minds, because all of them lift themselves off their massage tables and looked over at her. She still has her head in the head pocket of the table, not wanting to see their shocked faces.

“How?” Heather and Ashley echo.

“Look, girls, I know you. And you know me. So you know that I will not be going with any of your suggestions. This is my birthday weekend, and we will do exactly what I want. All of you, all of us, will be together, and you are going to have fun!” Leigh lifts her head up from the table now, smiling broadly.

“So, what punishment are you going to dish out this time?” Heather asks, looking from Leigh to the other two. The others have the same question on their minds, in their eyes, and written all over their faces, and they focus intently on Leigh. Leigh isn’t sure about the next words to come out of her mouth, so she decides to just say it, decides to let it out and then let them all process. She is really trusting the masseuses, the women whose job it is to get them relaxed, to do just that!

“Nothing hectic… I just want us to go to American Trash!” She looks at her friends like they should know what this is. She isn’t sure what it is, but she knows what goes on there. She has done her research on the internet. Still, she isn’t sure what exactly goes on there, and what the vibe is like. All she really knows is that, for a while now, she has wanted to visit a biker bar. And American Trash seemed like the perfect place to get her feet wet and to get a taste for the rough side.

“American Trash?” Dani asks, echoing the confusion on the other girl’s faces.

“It’s a biker bar!” Leigh says, and then she lets this sit with them for the moment. The look on their faces goes from confusion initially, to utter revulsion. Leigh expected this though, so she steels herself, hardening the look on her own face as much as she can. There is no way that she will give in to them, and with three days before the weekend, she has no time to find another equally risky, equally exciting thing to do.

“Seriously?” Heather asks eventually, speaking for the group.

“Really! There is no turning back on it! That is what I want. And that is what we are going to do!” Leigh looks back down and places her face in the pocket again. She leaves her friends to think about what she has just said, and to accept that it is going to happen, no matter what they do, no matter how much they protest. She doesn’t expect much protestation though, because she always does what they want to do on their birthdays. Fair is, after all, fair!
