“Make no mistake about it. I don’t care whether you are my father. If I find out that you had anything to do with this situation, you will join Abner.”

Gerard gulped, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down in his throat. His face was white and his hands clasped tightly together. Gerard and Noah had never been close, and Gerard knew full well that Noah wasn’t bluffing.

“Does anyone else have something to say about the situation?”

Silence hung over the room like a thick, wet, wool blanket.

“He leaves today. Get him out of here,” Noah said.

Elijah and Keith rose from their seats and escorted Abner out.

“Elijah, send Selena in.”

“Yes, Alpha.”

Elder Cyrus said, “Alpha, you…”

He stopped abruptly when Noah glared at him. The old man knew that Noah was furious about what happened and would not hesitate to send all of them to the island, and there wasn’t a damn thing they could do about it.

Selena came in and sat at the end of the table.

“You attacked Angie in the bathroom at the gala,” Noah said.

“Yes, but I…”

“Silence,” Noah roared, slamming his hand down on the table. “I don’t want to hear any excuses. You knew that she was to be your future luna.”

“Yes,” Selena said, her voice barely above a whisper.

“You attacked her because she made it clear she didn’t intend on going back to the human world.”

“Yes.”

“You were infuriated when she fought back after you used your wolf claw and put gashes on her face and arm.”

Selena nodded.

“Speak up,” Noah demanded.

“Yes.”

“You decided to try to find a different way to get rid of her so you did some digging and found out about her past. You then relayed this information to Abner.”

“Yes.”

“Did you know that he was going to hire the rogue shifters to kidnap and kill Angie?”

“No. I swear. I had no idea. I thought that he was just going to force her to go home,” Selena wailed frantically.

“That is the only thing that keeps you from being sent to Charred Cove Island with Abner. However, you have one foot in exile. If you ever do anything underhanded or mean to Angie again, you will find yourself on the island. I don’t care if it’s as simple as giving her a dirty look. Do I make myself clear?” Noah asked, sternly.

“Yes, Alpha. I am very sorry for my actions, and I will treat Angie with the utmost respect from now on. I swear it.”

“Dismissed,” Noah said.

If the situation hadn’t been so serious, Noah would have been amused at how fast Selena ran out of the room.

“Does anyone else have anything to say about the situation?” Noah asked, looking each person in the eye directly.
