She whispered, “I love you, Apollo. I love you, Noah.”

Noah
Noah was just about to leave when his father stalked into his office.
Oh, Brother. Not another one. I should put up a sign that says the next person who comes into my office to talk to me about Angie will be guillotined.
“I just had an interesting conversation with Abner and Elder Cyrus,” Gerard said.
“I imagine you did,” Noah said, running his fingers through his hair.
“How long have you known that she isn’t a shifter?” Gerard demanded.
“Quite some time,” Noah said.
“And you still brought her here from the human world?”
“Yep,” Noah said.
“You have to send her back to the human world immediately,” Gerard demanded.
“I love her and I intend to go through the mating ceremony with her,” Noah replied, evenly.
“Find someone else,” Gerard said.
“You need to remember your place,” Noah growled, having enough of his father’s attitude. “I am the alpha.”
“I care about the pack. If you care at all about the good of the pack you will not dirty it by bringing in a mundane human. Your job, as the alpha, is to send Angie back to the human world and have nothing else to do with her. Otherwise, you are just being selfish.”
Anger flashed through Noah. He narrowed his eyes and clenched his fists.
“You have thirty seconds to get out of my office before I do something that we will both regret,” Noah growled.
Gerard glared at him for a second and then walked out. Abner had just been walking by and overheard the conversation.
Abner said, “Gerard, don’t worry about the woman ruining our pack. The situation has been handled.”
A cold chill ran through Noah’s spine. Gerard and Abner walked off so Noah couldn’t hear anything more.
His stomach tied in knots and his heart stopped. Noah grabbed his phone and tried calling Angie. She didn’t answer. His breath caught in his throat.
Something’s not right, his mind screamed at him.
Noah grabbed his keys, and he and Rufus raced to his truck. He drove twice the speed limit to get to Angie’s apartment.
Her door was busted. He walked in and ran over to the dog lying on the floor. Apollo wagged his tail but couldn’t get up. Rufus whined and ran over to Apollo, licking his face.
“Oh my lord. What happened to you? Where is Angie?” Noah asked, frantically.
His heart stopped as he gently petted the dog. He knew that Angie would never leave Apollo hurt if she didn’t have to.
“I tried to help her. I really did,” Apollo cried.
“I know, Baby. I can see that you did. What happened?”
“Her grandfather came and told her to go back to the human world. She said that she wasn’t going to go unless you told her to. He said that he would see about that. Not too long after that, four men came in and attacked us. They said that she pissed off the wrong person, and they were taking her to the mountain where her body would never be found again.”
