Considering how badly the trip had gone for them, I wouldn’t blame anyone if they wanted to just forget the whole thing and go home. I was half-hoping they would. I was sure Luke and I could grab a plane home.

“Funny you should ask that, as I suggested the same thing. Sadly, Gwyn still wants to come to the island for the remaining part of the week. She’s hoping to salvage some of the family trip.”

“Okay. It makes sense. They came all the way here. It would suck if they didn’t enjoy the island for a few days.”

“Unfortunately, yes,” Luke said and put his hand up. “Don’t get me wrong. I want to spend time with my son and get to know him better. But I was hoping to have more time alone with you.”

“Me too. But it will only be for a couple of days.”

Luke nodded his agreement and pulled me to him. His hands went to my legs and he slowly crept my dress up. His hands moved to my ass, cupping it before moving the dress higher. My hands went to his board shorts and untied them.

“That doesn’t mean I’m not going to take advantage of every moment I have with you, starting now,” Luke said and crushed his mouth to mine.

Chapter 20

Luke

It was wonderful to take the day, to just be, to just relax, to enjoy the splendor that was Natalie. I had bought the house on Paradise Island for the tax benefits. I hadn’t really spent much time there. When I had, I was working and hadn’t appreciated what the house or the island had to offer.

Being with Natalie allowed me a chance to slow down, to see what life would be like when we were married. I didn’t have the same desire to work, to be making deals, to see how much more money I could make as I once had. All I cared about was spending time with her.

I had worked and made my billions because I wanted to, because I liked the challenge. I had made enough money that she would be set for life. I wondered if the universe had allowed me to be so successful and given me the payoff of Natalie. I wanted to think so.

We finished breakfast and went and hung out by the pool. She had come out wearing a tiny G-string bikini that hardly covered anything. I liked seeing her in it. I liked it even more when I layered up the sunscreen over her body so she didn’t burn. She had done the same for me and it had almost resulted in us having to reapply it.

She had brought out her tablet and had sat in a lounge and read. I brought mine too and tried to read the paper and catch up on the news, but I found myself more content to just look at her and the wonderful view of the ocean.

It was a gorgeous day, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and the sun was high overhead. It was warm and humid, as it could be in the tropics, but there was enough of a breeze to not make it seem too hot.

“What?” Natalie asked when she caught me looking at her.

“Nothing. I’m just admiring the view,” I said.

Natalie looked over her shoulder to the bay, the boats, and the ocean just past them. “How long have you had this place?”

“About five years.”

“Really?”

“It doesn’t look like it’s been lived in, does it?” I asked, almost reading her mind.

“No, not really. Why have it if you weren’t going to use it?”

“It wasn’t really meant for a vacation home. I thought of it as an investment and a place to go when I retired. There are some serious tax benefits from having a place and residing in the Bahamas.”

“So, it was purely a business decision.”

“As most things in my life were. Until now.” I said/

“Ethan said he came from money. I didn’t realize just how much until now,” Natalie said and looked around.

“Does that bother you? Are you going to be okay having more money than you know what to do with and a man who wants to cater to your every whim and spoil you rotten with that money?”

“What woman wouldn’t want that?” Natalie asked.

There was a hesitation in her voice when she spoke so I said, “You didn’t answer the question.”

She looked away from me, and I could tell she was trying to collect her thoughts.
