“A lot happens when I’m with you. A lot more is going to happen,” he said and brought his mouth down and kissed me.
I tightened my grip and pushed myself against him. I could feel his erection forming and my body immediately responded. His hands went to my towel and it dropped to the floor. I moved closer to him as my hands glided down his chest and towards his center.
The sound of my stomach growling killed the moment and I stepped away from Luke and we both laughed. Luke put his hands on his hips and said, “How about I feed you and then we can work off our dinner?”
“That sounds like an excellent plan,” I said.
Chapter 16
Luke
I wasn’t one to cook for anyone. I hardly cooked for myself. But when I was stuck, happily, with the woman of my dreams, I would gladly cook for her. It was intimate and easy to work in the kitchen while I prepared our meal.
Hector had made sure that the kitchen was fully stocked and I had opened a bottle of wine and let it breathe while I figured out what we should have. It was strange to think that I didn’t know what Natalie liked to eat, if she was allergic to anything, or so many other things about her. I would have a lifetime to find them all out.
“Not a vegetarian, vegan, or anything like that?” I asked.
“No. I like meat. I probably shouldn’t and don’t eat it every day but I could never give up bacon,” she said with a smile.
“A woman after my own heart. I could wrap the steak in them if you would like?” I offered.
“Yes, please. Do you like to cook?” she asked as she watched me as she sat on the bar stool in front of the counter.
“Honestly, I’m not much of one and hope this turns out okay. It’s a little late on the island to try to order pizza.”
“And should we be making our presence known on the island considering what’s going on aboard the boat?” she asked
I pointed my knife at her and smiled. “There is that. It just means we’re going to have to stay inside and avoid everyone for a few days. What ever will we do with the time?” I teased.
“Maybe take up knitting? Clean the house? I’m sure we will come up with something. Can I help with anything?”
“You can pour us the wine.” I turned and pointed to a cabinet near the sink that had the wine glasses. “I didn’t ask you if you drink wine, much less red.”
“I’ve never been much of a drinker in general. It wasn’t because I didn’t like it or didn’t want to try. It was more that I couldn’t afford it.” She went to the cabinet and got out two glasses and brought them over to the counter.
“Well now, you can.”
She took the bottle and poured us both a glass. She took one and handed it to me. I took it and we clinked glasses. “Cheers, to you,” I said.
“Cheers to us,” she replied.
She watched me as I took a sip and did the same. I wondered if she knew how to taste wine properly. I wanted to ask her about her life, why she couldn’t afford something like alcohol, and what she wanted to try. I wanted to give her everything I could and with my money I could.
“What do you think?” I asked after she finished her sip.
“It’s smooth, sweet. I can’t decide if I like it or not. Is that okay?” She looked hesitant to tell me her thoughts.
“There’s no right or wrong answer with wine. What you taste, what you like, will be different from mine. That’s okay. You might like Chardonnays, or Pinot Gris, or something that hasn’t even been invented yet. Who knows?
“Those sound like they would be fun to try,” she said.
“And all the ones that I have in my wine cellar here and at my house. Ones that I’m more than happy to share with you.”
“You are a very kind and generous man,” she said and took another sip.
“I will share everything I have with you. Also, I like to drink wine and don’t like to do it alone. You would be doing me a favor.”
“Well, in that case, I’ll take some more.” She held out her glass to me.
