"What is it?" I asked keeping her gaze.
The blood from her cheeks drained and I knew for sure right then that there was definitely something more going on. "Tell me, Faye."
"Oh, Dominic." She sighed and sat up but still kept my gaze.
I sat up next to her, my body tensed.
"Just don't get mad, okay."
I didn't know what she had to tell me but I knew from the look on her face there was no way I was going to like it.
CHAPTER 22
Faye
His face contorted with every word that came out of my mouth.
And with every word I knew I was digging my grave deeper and deeper.
There was a chance whatever plan my sister and James had concocted would work and it could be my way out but I didn't think I'd be able to live with myself if Dominic found himself surrounded by enemies he thought were his friends. He had to know that There was something more going on.
"He told you he was the one who shot Lionel? That it was someone from my father's crew?" Dominic questioned me.
"I'm not sure-"
"Well, get fucking sure!" Dominic barked.
"Dominic, I'm telling you everything he told me. I don't know what he and Farrah had planned, only that there was definitely a plan." I shrugged and pushed my hair behind my shoulder, a nervous tick.
"Shit!" He jumped out of the bed and began to pace back and forth in front of it. "My own fucking father is trying to take me out."
"Maybe not. Maybe that's what they want you to believe. You have to be smarter than that." I get up to my knees.
"Smarter than that? Who the hell do you think you're talking to? I'd be able to get more information than what you were giving me if I didn't have to kill James. If you would've just-"
"If I would've just what? Let him rape me? If I didn't cause so much fucking trouble in your life?" I shouted back at him. "I told you already if you want the life you used to have, divorce me. Let me go and there you go, problem solved."
"I fucking can't!" He lunged back toward the bed and I cringed away.
His eyes were bloodshot and the muscles in his shoulders and chest bulged as he leaned on the bed.
"I know what I need to do. End this once and for all. I need to get your sister." Dominic nodded his head and fear bubbled up in my gut.
I knew what that meant. He needed to find Farrah and silence her once and for all.
"You won't find her." I replied quickly. Probably too quickly.
"I will." He squinted his eyes at me, "Unless you're trying to tell me that you're in on this in some way? Did Farrah promise you a piece of the pie? Is that what's going on here?"
I gasped and wrapped the sheets around my body. "You know that's not the case. What the hell would I do with the money anyway. Farrah tricked the both of us. Hell, she tricked everyone."
"Yeah, I thought so but then you come in here with this wild story about a plan that supposedly only Farrah knows. A plan that is already playing out. Trying to pit me against my father and the people in my crew. Trying to isolate me from the people that are supposed to be on my side. You've been getting under my skin from the moment you walked in."
"She tricked me," I said again, the tears already started to well in my eyes. This was not how it was supposed to go.
"I never for once believed that someone could be so fucking stupid as to let their sister trick them into marrying someone. You played the part so fucking well."
"You're wrong!" I shouted at him.
