“Sure. I had fun, too.” She scratched her nails down Buzz’s head between his eyes and he sighed loudly with pleasure.

“Are you hungry? I know we didn’t eat dinner. If you want, I can make something,” he said.

“No, I’m okay. Unless you’re hungry?”

“I might snack on something later but I’m okay if you are.”

“I’m fine. I almost never eat on nights I have to attend fancy fundraisers. The food is always good but weird.” She laughed. “I made sure to eat a big lunch.”

“Okay, cool. If you get hungry, feel free to raid the fridge.” He gestured behind them with his thumb.

“Thanks.” She smiled at him.

He looked at Buzz, who was practically passed out drooling in Maggie’s lap.

“You’ve ruined him,” he laughed. “Kelsey doesn’t even get this much love from him and she’s his size so they practically howl at the moon together.”

“All I did was pet him.”

“He’s at your beck and call.”

Maggie laughed and stroked Buzz’s ears. He’d fallen asleep sitting up with his head in her lap.

“Want to play video games?” he asked.

“Sure. What do you have?”

Wylder pressed buttons on the remote until an XBox One screen appeared. He leaned forward and picked the controllers up off the coffee table. He handed one off to her.

“Zeke was telling me about this game he and his girlfriend Sharia play sometimes. It’s called It Takes Two and it’s about this mom and dad that don’t get along but have to work together to get to their daughter by solving these puzzles. It sounded fun.”

“Yeah, we can try,” she said.

She stopped petting Buzz and he groggily wandered off and laid down on his dog bed.

For hours, they played. They laughed, joked, and teased each other as they completed the game’s puzzles. The night was really turning around and they were having fun.

“Yes!” Wylder shouted and threw his hands in the air in victory as they completed a tricky puzzle successfully.

“Woohoo!” Maggie cheered.

Wylder paused the game and turned to her, visibly excited. “Great job!”

They high-fived. “We’re a great team,” she said.

“We are.” His gaze flicked to her lips and back to her eyes. He cleared his throat and stood up. “I’m going to get some water. Do you want anything from the kitchen?”

She shook her head. “No, I’m good.”

“Okay.” He had his bottle of water and returned to the couch almost instantly. They went right back to gaming.

They played a few more hours, and the sun was beginning to rise outside the windows. When they came to a place to break, Maggie realized they’d moved closer as the night passed and were pressed side-to-side. She could feel his body heat against her as he saved the game.

“Good work,” he said. He laid his controller on the coffee table and turned his face toward her. The movement positioned their lips merely inches apart and she could feel his warm breath against her mouth. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach. Wylder’s gaze moved to her lips and back to her eyes. Would he kiss her? A moment of indecision flashed across his face but then he visibly committed.

Wylder captured her lips with his. His soft lips molded to her mouth, his hand went into her hair to pull her closer, and his tongue darted forward to tango with hers. They kissed and sucked and teased each other for a long time. Eventually, they shifted to lie down on the couch.

His weight pressed on top of her and his hips lined up in the perfect position, only thin cloth separating them. She could feel his cock as he moved against her. She panted and slid her hand into his hair.
