He worked up to her mouth, where he kissed and sucked on her lips.

He rubbed his nose against hers in Eskimo kisses and brushed her hair away from her face.

“I want to do all kinds of naughty stuff with you,” Flynn said, twisting her hair around his finger. “I want nothing more than to make love to you right now and claim you as mine. But I understand if you aren’t ready for that. It’s okay. How do you feel?”

Polly swallowed hard. Flynn was right. She’d ended a lengthy relationship and wasn’t sure about sex yet. What if she wasn’t good at it and that was why Grady moved on?

“I’d like to wait before we go all the way,” she said.

“Okay. Whatever you want. Whenever you’re ready.” Flynn’s lips brushed hers and she melted into him. They laid on their sides and made out like teenagers, their hands roamed and caressed and squeezed as they enjoyed each other. He kissed her throat and left little love bites on her collarbone. They made each other feel good for what seemed like forever, content to be together in their own world.

Flynn’s alarm woke them, tangled together, at 10:30 the next morning. They had to check out by 11:00 and he had to be on his tour bus by 11:30.

“Good morning,” Flynn said. He peppered kisses over Polly’s face.

“Good morning,” she said. She caught his lips with hers, and they both groaned as it morphed into a deep kiss.

Flynn threaded his fingers into her hair and kissed her passionately. His tongue met hers and they almost lost themselves in the kiss.

Polly broke it and nudged Flynn. “We have to get up.”

He buried his face in her neck and murmured, “Let’s stay here another day. I’ll hop on a plane.”

“I would love to, but my only flight out is today. I have to catch it. It makes more sense for you to take the bus.”

“Not if I buy a plane and fly you myself later. That gets us like 20 more hours together.”

Polly laughed. “That’s a waste of money and you know it. Plus, you’d have to track a plane down, negotiate, and buy it. That would take away from our time together.”

“Still, there’s like 18 hours that I didn’t have before. Plus, I would ask someone at the label to do it for me so that’s a moot argument. It’s not like I don’t have the money to use. I want to spend the rest of the day with you.” He pressed his nose to hers and looked her in the eyes.

“I want to spend the day with you, too.” She kissed the side of his mouth. “But I can’t let you do that. We have to get up. We can call and video chat all the time. Then we’ll be together soon in Boston. Once these tours are done, we can work on being together more.”

Flynn growled. “Okay.” He climbed out of the bed but turned back to say, “Seriously, think about moving in with me. I don’t expect an answer now, but once our tours are over, you do have somewhere to go. Okay?”

“Okay.”

Flynn grinned. “I can’t wait to live with you.”

Polly laughed. “I didn’t say yes yet.”

“You will.”

Flynn winked at her, then disappeared to the bathroom.

Polly stared at the cloth-lined ceiling of her bunk as she tried to fall asleep that night. The bus was parked outside the venue in Richmond where they would perform tomorrow. Only a few hours had passed, but already she missed Flynn. She was tempted to brew coffee despite the late hour simply to get a whiff of his scent and pretend for a minute that he was nearby instead of a continent away.

Her phone lit up with an incoming call, and Flynn’s contact picture flashed across the screen.

“Hello,” she answered.

“Hey, how was your flight?” Flynn’s low voice murmured.

“Good. How was your drive to the bus?”
