“He gets it,” Polly said. “We’ve talked about it.”
They’d been dating since high school. Grady was nothing but patient. He’d popped the question, but he wanted to wait for Polly to settle down to get married and move in together.
“We need to get everyone engaged. Lyra and Maggie still need rings. Then we can do a mass onstage band wedding,” Jade said. “All of us can attend and we can broadcast it for publicity. I mean, I know Bex is already married but she can renew.”
Polly laughed. “That will not meet your ‘marry Ryker as soon as possible’ deadline.”
“True. Nevermind. I was thinking out loud. Badly.” Jade shook her head.
Polly flagged down their server and requested the check.
Once they paid, they would head back to the bus and travel to the next city.

Polly stretched out inside her bunk on the bus, in the dark with the curtain closed, the wheels whirring rhythmically underneath. The only light came from the glow on her phone.
She texted Grady the photos she’d taken at the beach of the waves, the band, and Chloe. She thought they looked phenomenal. The messages showed “read,” but no response came. She checked the time. 1:30 am. She shrugged it off. Grady was probably sleeping and would reply in the morning.
She texted a picture of the waves to Flynn.
He immediately replied, “Gorgeous. Which beach?”
They texted back and forth about their travels and where they’d been. Polly eventually sent more pictures of the band.
