Her breath tickled my ear, rippling a shiver up my spine. “How would you feel about using the strap on me?”

The very suggestion sent my pulse throbbing between my legs. I gripped her suit jacket and forced myself to breathe. “I’ve never done that before.” I met her eyes. “But I would like to.”

Her gaze flitted across my face, the corners of her mouth quirking upwards. “Tremendous.”

I looped my arms around her waist. “Big word.”

She chuckled. “I thought you’d like that one.”

A big smile crept onto my face. “You’re a doofus.”

We drew together like magnets, fizzing under the moonlight. A soft breeze tickled the hair around our faces, and I pulled us flush together. Rebecca’s scent overwhelmed my senses, and I tucked my head into her chest, soaking up the heat of her body against mine.

She carefully tipped my chin upwards and kissed me, gentle and soft. I weaved my fingers into her silky hair and deepened the kiss, letting every feeling flow through me. When I tugged at the base of her scalp, Rebecca growled, breaking our kiss to capture my lip between her teeth.

My chest heaved, need pulsing through me—to be touched and caressed and fucked by the woman who’d always stolen my heart.

“Come on, lovebirds!” Lily called from the doorway. “I want to dance with my bridesmaids!”

The mood shifted, and we laughed into our kiss.

“Coming!” I shouted, turning to see Lily and Tyler swaying in the doorway.

Rebecca threaded her fingers through mine and tugged me towards the doors. We ducked back into the hall, and Lily led the way to the dance floor. We were welcomed back with cheers from Auntie Loren, Shay, and Amy. The heat from the dancing bodies hit me like stepping off a plane, but everyone seemed to be having a good time.

Lily danced in the middle of our group, Tyler shimmying his hips beside her. The rest of Tyler’s groomsmen joined in, creating a line of badly timed hip-thrusts.

The music faded to a close, and then “Love Shack” by The B-52s played through the speakers. I immediately thought of the storage room along the veranda, and judging by the expression on Rebecca’s face, she was thinking of it, too.

But we weren’t the best at hiding it.

“What’s that look for?” Lily asked over the music, glancing between us. Then, noting the expressions on our faces, she raised her palms up. “Actually, forget it. I don’t want to know.”

Rebecca and I laughed, and Rebecca snapped a few more pictures with her camera.

“Here, let me.” Tyler unhooked the strap from around Rebecca’s neck, despite her protests, and waved the three of us together for a photo.

We posed and smiled.

“Gorgeous!” Tyler declared, before turning the camera on himself.

“Careful. I don’t want your face to shatter the lens,” Rebecca teased.

Tyler took a few more silly pictures, then handed the camera back.

Rebecca pulled me close, looping her arm around my back and curling her fingers around my waist. She held the camera out at arm’s length to take a selfie of us. Her warm lips brushed against my cheek, and the flash went off, momentarily blinding me.

Rebecca checked the results on the screen and looked up at me with those big, bold eyes. “This is going to be my new phone wallpaper.”

I couldn’t hide how gooey that made me feel. I peered over her shoulder to inspect the photo for myself. My gaze lingered on Rebecca’s profile. Those glorious cheekbones and jaw that I’d daydreamed about for years. I looked closer, feeling a swell in my chest at the way she was looking at me. She was everything I’d ever wanted. I didn’t want to lose her.

But could I really leave everything I knew behind? We’d got this far, against all odds…but there was so much change.

My mind answered for me as I remembered Lily’s words: what would life be if we never took chances?

I clicked my tongue, making a show of mulling the photo over. “Maybe…we could hang it up in our new place.”

Rebecca snapped her head to me, her mouth slightly parted. “What—really?”
