Chapter 7

It was their last day together in Fiji. Abby was scheduled to leave today and frantic call from Nisha two nights ago meant he would be leaving early as well. But Sadiq didn’t mind because he’d already found the best thing on the island and she was coming home with him.

Soon.

Not soon enough, but soon.

“I can’t wait until we wake up like that everyday,” Abby smiled at him wearing nothing but a towel as she spritzed her wet hair with something she swore tamed her curls. Sadiq didn’t see any taming of those wild curls but he wisely kept that to himself. “I feel energized.”

Unconsciously his chest puffed out with pride at her words. He’d woken her slowly, gently pulling her from sleep with his hot, open mouth kisses. It had quickly spiraled into a slow and sensual morning of lovemaking. “Good to know. Better than coffee?”

“Much,” she told him and turned to hide her blush. “How about a morning swim?”

“More of an afternoon swim, but you know I’ll follow you anywhere Abby.” The truth was that he wouldn’t let her out of his sight today since it was their last together until…until she was able to settle her obligations in America and join him in Kaza’ah. It took no time for them to get into their swim gear and hit the beach.

Things were subdued between them, almost melancholy as drew closer to the tropical waters. “This is silly,” she said finally breaking the solemn silence that hung over them. “We have no reason to be sad. We’ve enjoyed this amazing place, we found each other and fell in love. That’s cause to celebrate not mourn.” With waist high water surrounding them Abby faced him and let herself fall.

“But who knows how long I’ll have to wake up without you,” he told her, floating beside her on the waves. He was worried that she would change her mind, decide that a new country and a new life weren’t really what she wanted after all.

“I sent an email to the principal and the head of the school district letting them know that I wouldn’t be coming back but school starts in a couple weeks. It won’t take but thirty days to be out of my apartment so the only issue is will I have to fill in until the district replaces me.”

“I could come with you, help you so things move faster.” He knew he sounded like a whiny little boy but he couldn’t help it. He’d waited his whole life for Abby and he wouldn’t let her go.

They were far from the beach, so far no noises could be heard other than their breathing as they bobbed in the water, eyes locked on each other. She came closer and cradled his jaw lovingly. “Your father needs you now Sadiq, even more than I do. You’ll be so busy you won’t have time to miss me.” Coming closer until her legs circled his hips and her hands danced through the hair at the nape of his neck. “We have forever.”

His hands squeezed her butt, making her groan and circle her hips to grind against him. “I will miss you,” he insisted to her delighted laughter.

“I’m glad because I’ll miss you too, but I’ll stay so busy packing up and saying goodbye to my friends and family that by the time I realize how much I missed you I’ll be on my way to Kaza’ah.”

He loved her sunny disposition, her positive outlook. It was only one of many things he loved, but it was at the top of the list. “I miss you already.”

Her expression softened and she kissed him, sending his desire flying through the atmosphere and leaving a trace of heat across the sky. “I never stood a chance at resisting you,” she smiled and traced his lips with her finger. “I have the perfect way we can spend our last day.”

“We didn’t get to spend enough time here on our last visit,” she told him as they both sank into the warm water of the hot springs. She’d had a dream a few nights ago of them together at the springs and they looked so happy she had to make it a reality. This was the last day on the island and she wanted to make it special.

Memorable.

She’d even worn her brand new, barely there gold bikini and Sadiq hadn’t been able to take his eyes off her since she removed her shorts and tank. “That’s new,” he growled and pulled her close.

“You noticed.”

“I noticed,” he repeated the words, sounding more than a little uncomfortable.

Abby laughed and came in closer until her lips were a breath from his neck. “Good. I bought it so that you would.”

“Abby.” His voice came out deep and gravelly, showing just how affected he was. But he was also a man of propriety and though they were alone she knew he was worried. Too bad she had no such concerns and his love had given her a confidence, a boldness she never knew existed within her.

“Sadiq,” she whispered and licked a trail from his ear, down his neck and to his collarbone. “I want you.”

“Let’s go,” he groaned and started to stand

“No,” she pulled him back to the water, blocking his way with her own body. “Here. Now.”

“Abby,” he groaned, torn about wanting her and having her exposed in public.

Instead of arguing she kissed him. Her head was cradled in his large masculine hands and her mouth seduced him, while her hands found their way into his pants. He groaned and she knew this moment was perfect. “I love you Sadiq and I can’t wait.”
