I pulled out my phone and sent a text.

Asher: Are you still nearby?

Aurora: Yes.

Asher: Come to the locker room. Killian needs you.

I winced as I took another look at Killian, then walked out into the corridor.

It wasn’t long before Aurora was hurrying down.

“What happened?” she asked, as she reached me.

I hated the state of her, in her whore get-up. I just couldn’t stand another moment of it.

I shook off my suit jacket and draped it around her shoulders, even doing up two of the buttons.

“What… what are you doing?” she asked, searching my face.

I reached out and fingered her hair. “You’re ours now.”

“I know, we already agreed to the show and—”

“No,” I growled. “You’re our woman.”

“Oh. I…”

“Let it sink in. We’ll talk about it more later. For now, Killian could use some comfort.”

She looked more than a little stunned, but she managed to bring it as usual, and she was nodding, then throwing open the door to the locker room, then disappearing inside.

After a few moments, I quietly opened the door and peered around the corner.

There she was sitting on the floor with Killian, rocking him back and forth against her as she wrapped him in her arms while he sobbed his heart out.

“It’s okay. I’m here. I’m here with you.”

“I can’t… I can’t do this anymore,” he wept, so much agony pouring forth, everything he’d had to bottle up for far too long.

Everything they’d made him bottle up.

“You won’t have to,” she assured him. “We’ll find a way, I promise.”

He just held tighter to her, his face buried in her shoulder.

He didn’t believe her assurances, he didn’t believe it was possible.

But he would.

I’d make it so.

Even if I had to walk through the fires of Hell to do it.

Infidels Fall, motherfuckers.
