“And ours forever,” I mutter, despite the doubt still lingering in the back of my mind.
Amber’s eyes open ever so slowly, blue pearls that light up as she sees us. For a moment, she may have forgotten where she is. The glimmer of recognition flickers briefly, followed by a soft and timid smile. “I didn’t hear you come in,” she says.
“We didn’t mean to wake you,” I reply.
“Oh, no, it’s fine. I fed Valen and ended up napping beside him.” She giggles as she sits up, her breasts visible through the sheer fabric. Those splendid nipples make me harder and harder, and all I can do is take a deep breath as I glance at my brother.
“Cynthia will be staying with the Hadana clan tonight,” Izzo tells her. “She will be back tomorrow. She needs more time to study Lorra’s symptoms.”
“Is she okay to spend the night there?” Amber asks, concerned.
Once Izzo assures her that Cynthia is more than okay to spend the night there—yet another white lie, I suppose, since Cynthia practically chewed our heads off for convincing her to stay with the Hadana twins—I take Amber out for a walk while my brother stays with Valen. We take time every day to spend with our son, either one at a time or the two of us together.
Given that we’ve only just bonded with Amber, however, Izzo and I agreed that we should do the same with her if only to strengthen our connection and build this relationship further. We already lost a wife, and it took us two years to recover from those dark pits of grief and despair. We may be warriors, but we still have hearts and souls in raging need of mending, and I am certain Amber is the only cure for us.
We walk south of town, slowly making our way down the riverbank toward the Death’s Kiss Cliffs, a conglomerate of obsidian stones—giants formed when the nearest volcano last erupted to spill into the Crimson River. The volcanic glass poured all the way here, creating this magnificent formation. Over the centuries, the nomadic people carved their way through the rocks and built an intricate system of caves connected to an underground stream that ultimately spills into the river. I figured Amber would appreciate this place.
“Where are we going?” she asks, her gaze fixed on the obsidian rising ahead.
“I want to show you something. One of the most beautiful places on Sunna, come to think of it.”
“That’s all volcanic glass, isn’t it?”
“It is.”
We stand at the narrow entrance between the obsidian cliffs for a while as I give Amber the time she needs to really take it in.
“It’s incredible,” Amber breathes as we go in.
There are shafts carved into the upper ridges that allow for the sunlight to beam through the cave system. It creates a playful effect inside while also illuminating the entire passageway and every single chamber. As we descend into the underground, I tell her about how this place came to be. The lower we go, the hotter it gets, the humidity rising and curling her rich, ruby-red hair.
Sweat drips down her temples, seeping through the fabric of her dress. It makes her body stand out and my temperature explode. It’s getting harder for me to hold back, but I promised myself we would at least make it to the first of the hot springs. For us, a hotter temperature means a much greater sexual appetite, and Amber is about to be on the receiving end of my hunger for her.

“We were fortunate to conquer and hold on to this territory,” I reply, watching her as she carefully descends the carved obsidian steps leading to the circular pool. “My people did much work in order to carve these water holes. It took a while since obsidian isn’t the easiest to work with, but the system is impeccable, and we come down here often for the benefits.”
Amber takes her dress off, and I stare at her gorgeous body as she contemplates on the edge of the pool. Steam rises from the dark water in lazy rolls as she dips her toes first. “Oh, hot. Not too hot, though,” she says, a smile dancing on her full lips. “It’s perfect.”
“So are you,” I reply, admiring her generous curves and muscular thighs, her round ass, and blooming breasts. “Are all the women of Earth like you?”
“Oh, we come in all shapes and sizes,” she tells me, giving me an over-the-shoulder glance before she gets into the water. “We’re all beautiful in our own way, I suppose.”
Her naked body glistens in the timid light cutting across the pool from the ceiling holes above. I lick my lips and watch her go deeper as she discovers the underwater steps. The spring pours through a hole in the wall, and the pool itself drains somewhere below. The black walls keep the temperature constant, making it perfect all year round. A moment later, my garb is on the floor, and I join Amber in the hot water.
“You are superb,” I tell her, but I keep a distance, my gaze fixed on hers. “The suns have been kind to your skin, I see.”
“I’m getting quite the tan, yes.”
“How do you feel?”
Amber gives me a curious look. “Like, right now? Pretty good. This steaming water does wonders for the body. We have hot springs back on Earth, too, though nothing as spectacular as this. This is amazing.”
“How do you feel here, with us?” I ask, slowly inching closer.
“Unexpectedly good, but we both know it’s not going to last,” she says, letting herself slide deeper into the water. “Your people are kind and generous, attentive, and sweet despite your impressive size. Your strength is frightening, I’ll be honest. I’ve seen some of the kids lifting the kind of weights I’ve yet to be able to lift myself,” she adds with a chuckle. “But I still need to go home, Binzen. I don’t belong here.”
