“I won’t lie to you, Kitkat. I’m so fucking hooked on you. You have me, if you want me,” he admitted quietly, thrusting slowly in and out, kissing my jaw. “I don’t want to wake up without you beside me.”
“No,” I whimpered, feeling my insides tightening up into a ball. I didn’t know if it was fear of being alone or my impending orgasm that caused me to cry, but the tears began to slowly stream from my eyes.
“Look at me, baby girl,” he cooed softly.
I opened my eyes, not realizing that I had shut them tightly. Kai kissed my tears away and continued our quiet conversation. “I’m in love with you, Katie. You don’t have to say the words yet. You don’t have to make any promises about our lives together. Just tell me that we can try this. Together.”
I couldn’t hold back the moan that left my throat. Did I love him? Yes. I always had. Could I let down my guards a little more? I could. For Kai. He had earned that much.
“Please,” I begged him, feeling like my body was about to combust.
“Please, what?” He asked, taking my hands and pinning them over my head. “Tell me what you want, Katie. What do you want?” He asked, thrusting into me a bit more forcefully and causing electricity to ricochet through my body.
It was everything about him at that moment. The feel of his chest rubbing against mine. The way he filled me and made my body sing for him. “Me. I want to be myself again,” I cried out as he thrust into me again.
“Then we start from there,” he whispered against my ear, nibbling my lobe.
Fuck. What was this man doing to me?
“Do you want to laugh and be loved?” Kai asked, finding a sensitive spot on my neck that nearly caused me to convulse right then and there.
“Yes!” I cried out.
“Will you let me love you?”
“Yes!” My whole body cried out to his every touch and word. Every fiber of my being was giving him a truth I could not speak before.
“Come for me, baby girl. Let me see you come apart in my arms. Let your walls down, Katie. Let me protect you,” he pleaded, thrusting deeper into me each time at the same slow pace.
“Don’t hurt me,” I cried, letting go of everything. My body exploded with a euphoria that should be illegal to feel. I felt weightless and tied to him all at the same time. My heart felt like it had burst, and I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. “I love you.”
Kai kissed me hard. Taking the words from my lips and swallowing them. His body shuddered as he came inside me, the twitching of his cock buried deep inside dragging out my own orgasm. My whole body felt like I had been through hell and back with this man. He let go of my hands and I clutched at him as though he were my life line.
Our kissing slowed down, but I was still crying. I couldn’t stop the floodgates of emotions. I was home with Kai. I was safe with Kai. I was loved by him, and I couldn’t deny it anymore. I was in love with him. I was myself with Kai. I didn’t need to pretend, or hide my fears. He saw all of my scars and took me the way I was, without hesitation.
“Thank you for trusting me, Kitkat,” he whispered against my lips. I didn’t need to say anything more. My heart and body gave him every answer. Honestly.
He slowly pulled out and rolled over, pulling me with him so that I was again laid across his chest. “Sleep, love,” he cooed against my hair. And like an obedient child, my eyes fluttered closed. I fell asleep without worries or doubts filling my head. My mind was in absolute peace.
Chapter 36
“Hey, Katie! The moving truck is here,” Kai called from downstairs.
Shit! I was supposed to be out of bed already!
I threw off the blankets and ran to the bathroom to brush my teeth and pull my hair back. Changing into a pair of sweatpants and one of Kai’s t-shirts, I hurried down to the front door.
“Where’s the truck?” I asked, looking out the door and noticing the lack of a large delivery truck.
Kai snickered from behind me. “They just called and said they would be here in 15.”
I looked at my watch feeling confused. “But it’s been like 15 minutes. Where are they?” I asked.
“On their way. You were still in bed weren’t you?” He asked, sneaking up to hug me from behind and changing the subject.
“No.”
“Yes,” he corrected. “What happened to the Marine getting up early? You’re always trying to sleep in now,” he whispered against my neck, causing a shiver to run down my spine.
