He grins rakishly and I feel my heart thump in my chest. “I just found it actually. I’m taking you somewhere.”

Huffing, I cross my arms and eye him angrily. “That’s called kidnapping when you don’t consent, Max.”

“You’re not jumping out,” he states as he spins the wheel and turns the other direction from my house.

“Where are we going?”

“Home.”

“My home is that way.”

“Your home is with me.”

“My home is with Daisy.”

“That’s true. But there’s something that you need to understand, baby girl. I’m not giving up. I’m never giving up. I quit my job. I hired private investigators. I’ve bought us a home to raise our children in. Every damn decision that I made since I met you has been about you and our family.”

“There’s one thing that you haven’t said.” My heart feels like it’s racing out of control, especially when he glances over at me and smiles gently.

“I love you, baby girl. I have since you walked into my classroom. I was waiting to make you mine until it was right. I didn’t want any mistake I made to affect your future. But when you disappeared, it was like my whole life ended. If I couldn’t have you then I just didn’t want anybody. You’re it for me and you always will be.”

Tears trickle down my cheeks and it’s like the best dream I never thought I’d get. I move closer to him on the seat and rest my hand on his leg, smiling softly when his leg jumps and he turns to me, growling under his breath.

“You’re gonna make me wreck this car if you don’t stop that.”

“I wish I’d talked to you when it happened.”

“I wish you had too. I don’t want to know what happened or who he was. I don’t even want to know why it happened. All I need to know is that he’s never coming back.”

“He’s not on her birth certificate and he signed over his rights.”

“Good. Then I’ll adopt her as soon as we get married. I intend to take care of the both of you and any other children we’re lucky enough to have.”

“You’re saying all the right things but what if you change your mind.”

“It’s not gonna happen. I searched every damn place I could and worked my ass off to find you. I’m not changing my mind. This is it. You’re it for me and I hope you don’t change your mind because I am all in.”

“I’m not gonna change my mind. But you never told me that you loved me.”

“An oversight that I will never make again. I love you desperately. I cannot live without you. I need you more than I need my next breath.”

“Where are we going?” I ask him, feeling my lower body throb with desire for him.

“I told you. Home. Our new home.”

“I don’t want that. Don’t need it right now. I don’t want to wait. I just want you.”

He takes his eyes off the wheel and stares at me. “ Want you in a bed, baby girl.”

“I want you now.” My hand slips down and cradles the bulge in his dress pants and he moans, the wheel jerking so hard that we almost drive right off the road.

He pulls over and glares at me. “I should spank your ass for doing that.”

“Please do,” I giggle.

“Not this time.” He grasps my waist and pulls me over until I’m pressed against him where he turns in his seat. Our bodies meld together and it’s perfect. My curves fit his sharp edges and bulging muscles perfectly.

He groans and his big hands caresss my face, holding me still as he nibbles at my lips before his tongue surges inside my mouth, tangling wildly with my tongue. Sliding along it, mating with it just like I need him to mate with me.
