Page 31 of All of My Life

Sierra’s face morphed into pure hate, but I didn’t care. I usually had no problem with girls that gave it away freely or just women in general, but she was attacking my girl, so what kind of man would I be if I didn’t attack back? Defending Jett mattered more to me than hurting anyone else’s feelings.

However, instead of calling me every name in the book, Sierra pushed her chest out, saying, “I’m pregnant.”

I let out a dark laugh. “So? What’s that got to do with me? I haven’t touched you in almost two years.”

“So?” she taunted. “Everyone believes that we were together up until recently. All I have to do is announce that I’m pregnant, and they’ll all believe that it’s yours.”

I shook my head. “You’re delusional if you think that anyone will believe that shit,” I scoffed. “More like it’ll just send half the guys at this school into a panic.”

Sierra arched a brow. “I need only one person to believe it, and since I already told her that I was in your bed last night, I doubt that it’ll take much to convince her that you’re the father.”

I could see a red film infiltrating my line of sight.

I could hear the violent rush of blood in my ears.

I could feel my fingers clawing deep into my palms.

My heart felt like it was being battered from all angles, and all I could think about was killing this bitch. Even though I knew that Jett wouldn’t believe her, she was threatening to come between me and the only girl that I had ever loved, and I was going to fucking kill her for it.

Doing my best to get my voice to work, I said, “If Jett ever leaves me because of you, I will ruin you in a way that will have you taking your own life, Sierra. I cannot stress that enough right now.”

“Hey, who’s in here?” I didn’t say anything as Coach Donaldson’s voice filled the locker room. “Everyone should be-what the hell?”

“Get her out of here, Coach,” I ordered. “Get her the fuck out of here now.”

“Uhm…Chasin, son…” he muttered. “She’s naked.”

“I don’t give a fuck,” I hissed. “Get her out of here before I fucking kill her.”

Coach Donaldson turned to face Sierra, though he lifted his head back so as not to look at her. “Sierra, I need you to get dressed.”

“You can’t let him treat me this way, Coach,” she cried out.

“Sweet Christ,” he swore. “Sierra, get dressed. Now.”

“But I’m pregnant,” she sobbed, and I could feel blood coating the insides of my palms.

“Sierra, get dressed,” he ordered again. “Then we can talk about this like civilized people.”

“It’s not mine, Coach,” I informed him. “She’s pulling this shit to ruin my relationship with Jett.”

Coach turned to look at me. “I’ll take care of this,” he offered. “You can go.”

“And leave you alone with a naked female student?” I scoffed. “Who knows what the fuck she’ll accuse you of for siding with me.”

“You’re a bastard, Chasin Carver!” she screamed.

I eyed Coach Donaldson as he pulled his phone from his pocket. Sierra was sobbing like she was on a Broadway stage as Coach started barking orders into his phone. “Dina, I need you in the boys’ locker room now…Don’t ask, just get here five minutes ago!”

Not two minutes later, Dina Barkley, one of the school nurses, was racing into the locker room. “I’m here!” she cried out. “What…” She stopped when she took in the scene before her. “What’s…what’s going on?”

“I need you to get Ms. Frechere dressed and out of here,” Coach told her. “She’s…she needs to talk to someone.”

Mrs. Barkley looked my way. “Did…did something happen in here, Chasin?”

“Don’t ask him that!’ Sierra screamed. “He’s a liar!”

“She’s trying to break me and Jett up,” I answered, ignoring Sierra’s theatrics. “She came in here, took her clothes off, then announced that she was pregnant when it became clear that I wasn’t interested.”
