I smile proudly. “My girlfriend.” Knox’s eyebrows nearly hit his hairline, he darts his gaze to Royal before looking back at me.

“His daughter?”

“Yeah.”

He whistles between his teeth and claps me on the shoulder. “You're a lucky man.”

Frowning, I ask, “Why?”

“Because you’re still breathing.” Royal and the rest of his family laugh at my expense. Knox waves goodbye, leaving just me and the rest of the Murdoch and Murelo family behind. I had hoped to get a moment alone with Royal but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen so I go for plan B and move to the other side of the room. They all eye me strangely but it’s safer this way.

“What the fuck are you doing?” Chaos asks.

“Just to clarify there are no weapons allowed in here, right?” They all frown and share a look before Chanel answers.

“Yeah, why?”

“Good.” I take a deep breath and turn to Royal who is standing tall between Chaos and Chanel. I can see from how tense he is that he knows something is about to happen. His father and uncles all reclaim their seats and watch with rapt attention. “Just so we are clear, London is having lunch with her Mom five minutes away and if I don’t make it back to her within twenty minutes she will come looking,” I warn her father.

His eyes narrow as he places his hands flat on the table and leans forward. “What the fuck did you do, dick?”

“I love your daughter,” I blurt out.

“What the fuck does that have to do with anything?” Royal bites out.

“Oh shit, he’s going to—” I cut Gage off before he can beat me to it.

“I want to marry your daughter!” I shout. Time stops, I stop breathing for a second and so does Royal. The room is dead silent for a whole minute as we all wait for Royal to come to terms with what I have just asked him. He slowly straightens and brushes off imaginary lint from his shirt. Chaos and Chanel relax and take a step back, the fucker uses that moment to leap onto the table. Chanel and Chaos manage to grab an ankle each and hold him back from crossing the massive round table to get to me.

“I’m gonna fucking rip your throat out!” Royal roars.

“I’m asking you!” I shout back.

“No, no, no, no, no! There is your answer. You are not marrying my daughter.” I dart my gaze to his dad and uncles for help but groan at the sight of all six of them covering their mouths with their hands to hide their laughter.

“We live together, she moved to Greece with me, she didn’t even want me to tell you because she knew you would act like this and say no.”

He stills, his eyes spit hatred at me. “You marry her behind my back and I swear to Christ almighty?—”

“Yeah I know, you will kill me and all that shit,” I finish for him. “I respect you and I am grateful for all the help you and your family have given me these past months, but I’m going to marry her. I fucking love her and she loves me. Get on board with this idea because she is telling her mother we are getting married right now.” His eyes widen.

“You chicken shit motherfucker! You went to my wife?”

“No, I told her not to but you know what your daughter is like when she sets her mind to something, so she made sure she had a backup plan in case I did decide to ask you for her hand.”

“You don’t marry her until I say.”

I cringe. “London has already set a date.”

“When?” he grits out through clenched teeth.

I run a hand through my hair knowing this is going to set him off, she knew exactly what she was doing when she picked this date. “December.”

“The what?”

I release a whoosh of air. “She set the wedding date for your birthday.” Royal loses his shit again and Chanel and Chaos have to hold him back.

Bishop climbs to his feet and buttons his suit jacket with a smile on his face as he says, “I thought him having a daughter was karma biting him in the ass but I see now I was wrong, his karma has only just begun since you came into his daughter's life. Welcome to the Murdoch family and all our fucked up shit.”
