“The law states that once you lead the Greeks, you can never rule another family.”
I scoff. “Meaning London can never be with me as the heiress to the Murdoch mafia and Memento Mori, she would be forced to return home and leave me when that time came.”
He smiles and nods. “Exactly, see, I can be a reasonable guy.”
“Yeah, right,” I mutter bitterly.
“This conversation is over, we leave for Mykonos first thing in the morning. I want this shit done before Christmas so I can spend it with my family while you spend it with yours thousands of miles away.”
“She comes to Mykonos with us,” I say just before he leaves.
“No.” He turns to leave but I push on.
“Yes!”
He spins around and glares at me. “That shit isn’t funny when London does it and sure as fuck isn’t working in your favor playing her stupid game.”
“It’s not a game, Royal. She needs to be there because she needs to be the one to do it. She wants her pound of flesh from him because he stole something from her. You hate me because of what I did to your daughter, I hate myself too for it even if she refuses to hate me. I did it to save her the pain of having to endure all those other motherfuckers thinking they could touch my girl.”
“She isn’t yours!” he roars. “She is mine and Erika’s, you will never take her from us.”
“What if she chooses me?”
He scoffs. “She may think she loves you but her obligation to her family will always come first. Deny it all you want but you know it’s true. She remains here.”
“She’ll follow us, you know it and so do I. She is safer with us than following behind on her own.”
“Fuck off, you sleep outside tonight, bitch boy.”
London
I can’t tamper down the rage inside me. Ever since my aunts and uncles left my room earlier, thanks to my dad ordering them away and telling me I am to stay put. I, of course, rebelled and tried to storm out of my room but the bastard locked me in here. I tried the windows only to see two guards stationed beneath them! I called my mom begging her to help me. I can hear her and my dad arguing from their bedroom but I can already tell he won’t back down. I heard him yelling earlier that they are leaving for Mykonos in the morning and he plans to leave me behind. I’m not fucking staying here!
The sound of the lock clicking open on my door has me pausing in the center of my room. I wait with bated breath to see who it is because I know it isn’t my dad. I can still hear him and my mom shouting. When the door finally opens, my jaw hits the floor at the sight in front of me. My two aunts and Uncle Chaos stand there with shit eating grins on their faces.
“What are you three doing?” I ask.
“Breaking in.” I snort at Aunt Meelz's answer.
“I see that but why?”
“Oh, we’re not breaking in, he is,” Aunt Sin says as Uncle Chaos shifts out of view for a second and then the next thing I see is Artemis stumbling into my room. He looks just as shocked as I do.
“What’s going on?” he asks.
“We’re doing you a solid, don’t be a brat and tell your dad we helped.” I gape at Uncle Chaos. “We’re all heading home, we’ll be back first thing in the morning to kick dipshit out before Royal realizes he isn’t sleeping under the patio.”
“Don’t rip his stitches!” Aunt Meelz warns as they close and lock the door behind themselves. Butterflies erupt inside me.
Since when have I ever had fucking butterflies?
There’s tension between us, some of it awkwardness but most of it is sexual tension and right now all I want is to feel him inside me, owning me, claiming me as his like he’s done before. I take a single step toward him but he takes one back.
“London, you need to know some things.”
“I don’t need to know shit right now, unless it’s you telling me you don’t want me then I don’t give a fuck.”
His features soften. “I could never say no to you but are you sure you’re okay with this? Last time wasn’t exactly?—”
