“I doubt he would be sleeping with anyone else.”
Now I scoff. “How would you know that?”
“You would murder the other woman he is screwing,” she deadpans.
“You know me too well,” I say sweetly.
She snorts. “Well, since I am now the nurse, I can prescribe you birth control without your father finding out–”
“Thank you!”
“Don’t thank me yet.” I deflate. “I won’t say anything to him, nor will Chanel but Royal always has a way of finding things out.”
“He does not.”
“London, he will find out and when he does, I hope you are prepared to bury your new boyfriend.”
I cringe and stumble back a step. “Never say that. He is so not my boyfriend and never will be.”
She pushes her lips to the side and pins me with her best you’re full of shit look. “He may not be your boyfriend but you clearly have feelings for him.”
“Do not!”
“I am not playing that game with you.” I laugh and shoot her a wink. “Just be careful okay.”
“Your concern is noted but I don’t need it, he means nothing to me.”
“Yeah, denial clearly runs deep in this family,” she mumbles as she turns away and heads for her computer in the corner. Forty minutes later I am leaving her office with the promise to keep my aunt's identity a secret. Out of everyone in this family, she is the only one who has a whole other life under a fake name, so it makes sense dad sent her here. I’ll never admit it but I am glad to have her here. I drag my feet the whole way to Artemis’s office. I want to flee to my room but the urge to force him to his knees and ride his face is too fucking strong for me to deny. I burst through his office door without knocking, acting like I own the place.
“Honey, I’m here…” I snap my mouth shut at the sight of a blonde bimbo in a tight little black dress perched on the edge of his desk. They snap their heads toward me and their laughter cuts off. Unfiltered rage burns inside me at the sight of the bitch. Artemis climbs to his feet and moves to round his desk but the cunt darts her arm out and places it on his fucking chest halting his movements. Before I can even think, I pull the dagger from the side of my boot and grip the blade ready to hurl it at that bitch, but Artemis darts in front of her with his arm out wide.
“London, drop the fucking knife!” I shift to the side to get a better shot but he moves with me.
“Unless you want a fucking blade in your skull, I suggest you move so I can kill your whore.” I spy Cronos and the triplets entering the room from the corner of my eye. The four of them don’t seem worried, they all look like they are on the verge of laughter.
“Weapons are forbidden on the school grounds!”
I scoff. “Fuck you, asshole, don’t try to play the headmaster card now after you’ve already eaten me out.” The three idiots choke on their laughter while Artemis turns a bright shade of red from his anger. “Move now,” I demand as I step forward ready to slit that bitches throat.
Artemis actually looks worried now, he should be because I plan to kill him next. He darts his gaze to Cronos and implores him with a look. “Cronos, now isn’t the fucking time to let your hatred for Blake overpower you.” I close the space between us, Artemis stiffens when I brush up against him.
“Baby, are you worried I’m going to hurt you or your little tramp?” I purr. His gaze turns ravenous and heat swirls in my gut but I ignore it and focus on my task when he grabs my waist. I tilt my head to the side exposing my neck and just like that I have him eating out of the palm of my hand at my fake show of submission. The second his mouth latches onto the side of my neck, I shove him to the side and lurch forward burying my blade in the top of the blonde bitches thigh. Her scream pierces the air as Artemis wraps his arm around my waist and yanks me back against him. “You like that, you fucking whore?” I scream, as he continues to drag me backward. “Might want to get that dirty snatch checked, babe, our boy over here has the clap.”
“Shut the fuck up, London!” Artemis growls from behind. I slam my elbow into his side then throw my head back. He shouts in pain from the force of my headbutt. I maneuver out of his hold. He tries for me again but I dodge him and land a roundhouse kick to his chin that has him staggering to the side and gripping the bookshelves to keep on his feet.
“You stay the fuck away from me, don’t you ever touch me again,” I scream as I race from the room, ignoring the screams of the blonde and the shouts of the others. I push through the school doors, needing to get the fuck out of here. I hear footsteps behind me, so I spin around ready to go another round with my headmaster but freeze when I see it’s Cronos. He doesn’t stop moving until he is directly in front of me. He reaches out and cups my cheek. The tenderness in his eyes and touch has a strange feeling brewing inside me, it almost feels like… holy fuck, was I jealous of the blonde?
“Come on, Lon,” he says as he grabs my hand and drags me toward the garage on the other side of the school. I don’t question him because as crazy as it sounds, I trust Cronos.
Nos brought me to a hidden lake with a small wooden jetty. There's nothing out here aside from mountains, trees and this beautiful still lake. The stars light the evening sky, the moon is high and shines a stunning reflection off the water’s surface. This place is fucking… magical for lack of a better word. The instant he ordered me out of the car and led me down here my anger and… I hate to admit but the hurt I felt disappeared at the sight of this place. We haven’t spoken a single word for hours but just having him here beside me is more than enough. All my life it has just been me and my family, I’ve never had a friend I could talk to or depend on. All I have ever had in the way of friends is Aunt Meelz. I love Aunty Nell, I do but I also know I can’t share everything with her because of her loyalty to my dad.
“I have only ever brought one person here,” Nos says quietly. I turn to face him but he keeps his gaze on the water. The painful look that mars his face tells me there is a story there but it’s a painful one.
“Who was she?” I ask. He lulls his head to the side with a cunning smile on his full lips.
“Who said it was a she?”
I purse my lips and pin him with a deadpan look. “There is always a she, only a woman can have a man sitting out here in the middle of nowhere all up in his feels.”
