He lifted an eyebrow, then pressed her onto her back again. He’d already grabbed a condom, but now he paused to roll it down his shaft. “Oh, you think you’re finished?”

She shrugged, watching his hands with fascination. “I think that–” she stopped as he lifted her leg, wrapping it around his hips, so that he was between her legs.

“What do you think?” he asked, kissing her lips lightly, then nibbling his way to her throat as she tilted her head back.

“I…,” she gasped as he lingered at her earlobe before returning to her breasts. He laved her nipple, teasing and tormenting the peak. With that, she lost all thoughts. There was only sensation now.

When he pressed into her heat, Ella closed her eyes.

“Ella,” he growled, stopping. “Look at me.”

She opened her eyes, her gaze nervous now. “I’m fine,” she assured him. Or was she assuring herself?

He slowed and she tried to brighten her smile. But this was new to her. Clutching at his shoulders, she pressed her lips together.

“What’s wrong?” he demanded, slowing down. He still pressed into her body, but he only gave her an inch, maybe a bit more, before pulling out again.

“Nothing,” she assured him, not exactly sure what to do.

“Ella, what’s wrong?” he demanded, pulling out fully and bracing himself over her. “If you don’t want this, then that’s fine. Just tell me what you’re thinking.”

She shifted slightly, wanting that part of him back. She felt…bereft now that he’d left her. “Mick, I just…get a bit nervous at the beginning.”

He froze at her words and, a moment later, his eyes narrowed. “You’re a virgin, aren’t you?”

Ella rolled her eyes, irritated now. She tried to slide out from underneath him, but he blocked her way. And there was no way she could move a two hundred pound man packed with muscles and trained in restraining criminals.

“Is that relevant?”

“Hell yes!” he replied back impatiently.

Mick was stunned. And even more turned on, if he was honest with himself. She’d never been with any other man. Was it because she’d been in love with him for all these years? He liked that idea.

No, he didn’t like it.

Okay, he shouldn’t like it.

Mick prided himself on being open-minded. And with his past lovers, he hadn’t given a damn about a woman being a virgin. He wasn’t, so why would he insist on his partner to be a virgin? It was hypocrisy at its worst.

However, he couldn’t deny that there was something mind-blowing about being Ella’s first, and if he had his way, her only lover.

“I just…never went all the way in college,” she admitted, biting her lower lip as she looked away.

“You didn’t fool around?” he asked, aching to show her what she’d missed all these years. But he wanted to know the whole situation before he demonstrated everything new.

She shifted uncomfortably, then gazed up at him. “Is this really what you want to be doing right now?”

Mick tilted his head slightly. “Yeah. Actually, it is.” He shifted slightly, rubbing himself against her nub. He heard her gasp, his eyes lighting up. “So tell me, Ella, what did you do for fun?”

She closed her eyes and he stopped. When she opened them again, dismayed by his lack of participation, he chuckled. “Look at me, Ella. I want to see your eyes.”

“Why?”

He grinned and sucked on her nipple until she moaned with delight. He moved to her other nipple, doing the same and he felt her fingers dive into his hair. When he decided she was adequately distracted, he lifted his mouth and looked down at her. “Because I can tell if you’re lying, or holding back on me, when I look into your eyes.”

Immediately, she closed her eyes again, sighing with frustration. “You’re…annoying,” Ella grumbled.

“I know, but humor me, okay?”
