“Whatever. Smith loves him.” She loops an arm through mine.
My wife isn’t wrong. “How’s my other girl doing?” I put a palm to her stomach hoping I get to feel her kick for once. She’s stubborn like her mother.
“Good.”
Smith tumbles forward and straight into Grim’s arms. “You ready to go hunt some eggs, young man?”
“Go on. We’ll catch up.” I wave them off. Grim’s a crazy bastard, but he’d never let anything happen to Smith. “As for you.” I kiss my wife. The minute her tongue touches mine my cell buzzes from my back pocket. I dig my phone out and glance at the screen. “Axel,” I tell Ainsley and swipe to accept. “What’s up, bro?”
“I’ve got something to tell you and the family. Get Mom and Dad then video call me.”
“All right.” I hang up with him to go find my folks and my sisters. Ainsley knows that my brother-in-law, Reaper, also a Devils Rejects MC member is the man who killed her father. He keeps his distance even though the man was an evil bastard and got what he deserved. I appreciate him wanting to keep the family peace though and not make my wife uncomfortable.
“How’s Axel?”
“Fuck if I know. He said he had news and wants all the family present on the video call.”
“You think he’s finally getting married?”
I shrug, and we find most of my family standing around the food. We go into the Roadhouse so everyone can hear Axel.
“Everyone here?” he asks, and I pan the camera around so he can see us.
“All accounted for. What’s this big news?”
“I’m coming home to Drag Creek.”
“Shit. There goes the neighborhood,” Morgan, my older sister, teases.
“When,” Mom cries.
“Soon.” He grins pulling the camera back some, revealing he’s out front. The video cuts off and he walks through the door.
Our poor mother nearly faints at the sight of him.

Abel skims his fingertips along my stomach. “You thought of a name yet?”
“I was thinking I’d like to call her Teagan.”
“I think it’s perfect.”
“You do?”
“Yeah. You tell Goldie?”
“No. I haven’t talked to her lately. She’s been tied up in this new guy she’s been seeing, but I’ll give her a call soon.” I let out a yawn.
“You tired?”
“A little.” I snuggle deeper into his side, placing my head on his shoulder. Today wore me out. Between socializing with all his family and the excitement from Axel showing up I’m kind of wiped out. I’m glad Cole and Morgan took Smith for the night. A lot of the littles are having a sleepover at their house.
Abel tucks a finger under my chin, forcing my head up for a kiss.
“I love you, Ainsley.”
“And I love you. Are you okay?”
