“You shouldn't have gotten involved with the wrong man.”

“No one seems more right to me than him.”

Grandma shook her head no and ended up nodding.

“Don't do anything or say anything to your father until we have a plan. Alright?”

“Okay.” I dropped my arms and held my knees. “And the party?”

“Let's let it happen. It's still a moment for your sister and we don't need to ruin it.”

I nodded my agreement, even though I was uncomfortable with the situation as a whole.

“Be careful, Pietra. Be prudent.”

I just nodded.

“Did you take the pill I gave you?”

“Yes.”

“Excellent. Be careful with that, okay? The situation is already complicated enough without you ending up pregnant now.”

I lowered my head and placed my hands on my belly reflexively. I wanted to have a family with Mikhail, but that moment could wait until we were married.

Chapter thirty-five

“Tell me who!” I punched the man who was sitting in front of me in the face.

He gritted his teeth and continued snorting as he looked at me. Some information had led me to the owner of a bar in the old white city, now called the Boulevard Ring. They believed that the drug dealer was part of the group that was acting behind my back against my reign.

“You basta...” he started to scream, but I hit him with a punch straight in the face, forcing him to shut up.

“I'll ask you one more time. Who is behind the attacks against me?”

“You will die and be sent to a place much worse than hell.”

I took a few steps back, looking at the abandoned warehouse where I was and grabbed a taser from the counter. I increased the intensity level of the electric current and approached the man.

“Who?”

He spat at me, and I stuck the stun gun into the base of his abdomen, causing the guy to struggle against the back of the chair.

“Say it.”

“No.” He barely had the strength to stand, but he refused to give me information about what I wanted.

I stuck the taser in again and again, he struggled and ended up passing out.

“You piece of shit!” I growled as I kicked his foot. He wasn't even fit to be tortured without posing as a weakling.

I took a few steps back and approached Sergei, who was standing at the entrance to the warehouse, just watching me try to extract information from the guy.

“Let me know when he wakes up.”

“You can go home, sir.” The counselor puffed out his chest and tried to be cordial with me, but I wasn't in the best mood in the world.

“I still haven't gotten what I wanted from him.”
