Arlo looked out the giant bay window and then back at her. "Looks like the Dark Dimension tried to gain control of you. Mytouch was working because we were already bonded and helped subside whatever the hell you were going through. Then, these two thought they would need to complete the bonds to help, too. After they started, it looked like things were calming down."

"How did you even know it was the Dark Dimension?"

Esen and Arlo glanced at each other and then back at her. Arlo walked over, picked up her pants and handed them to her.

"Uh, it looked like your skin was becoming black with scales. You were on the edge of shifting, but you said you didn't have control. I don't know what that was all about, but we did notice that you were almost shifting. With your screaming, it didn't look like a good thing."

Kaida felt her dragon inside of her. Instead of trying to claw her way out, her dragon was curled into a ball and practically purring.

"Well, she's calm now. I guess we figured that out," she told them as she pulled her pants on.

Enzo was trying to find his clothes from behind the couch. "I don't get it though. Why did it stop just because she completed the bonds with us?"

Arlo shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. Maybe because she has all of us grounding her, she is harder to control? It would work for us, too, because we are all connected because of Kaida."

"We all influence each other because of our bond to Kaida? That sounds dangerous. What if someone had control of Kaida?"

Esen shook his head. "Let's not think about that. I just want to eat until I feel fat after that. I never had a three-way before, but that took more energy than I expected."

Kaida shook her head at him and rolled her eyes. "That's the first thing you say after you complete your bond with me?"

Esen smirked, closed the distance between them, and kissed her forehead. "Take it as a win; it could have been worse." Then Esen started to walk toward the kitchen.

"That's...not...better."

Arlo chuckled. "But he's not wrong. It could have been far worse than that. I've heard him say thank you and then get out."

Kaida facepalmed. "Wonderful. That's what a girl wants to hear after sex."

"At least I said thank you!" Esen called out from the kitchen.

Arlo put his arm around Kaida's shoulder. "Why don't we all go into the kitchen, and I'll make us some food? That is what I was doing until we heard you scream."

"That's what I get for trying to enjoy myself. The Dark Dimension tries to take control of me. Figures"

"I hope this makes you feel better then. It's not out there anymore. After you started gaining control of yourself, the sky returned to normal."

"I don't know if that makes me feel better or not. What does that mean? Is it targeting me?"

Arlo growled. "I hope not."

They all walked toward the kitchen, and Kaida settled into a seat. She watched Arlo and Esen work in tandem in the kitchen as Enzo sat beside her and talked to her about anything he could think of to get her mind off what happened.

He didn't know that she wasn't thinking about the Dark Dimension.

Kaida reveled in the fact that three of her mates were not at each other's throats. Instead, they all came together in a time of need and were now talking to one another and enjoying each other's company. She felt their flames burning brightly inside of her soul.

If I have them beside me, I can conquer anything.

Kaida found herself being drawn outdoors after the guys ran upstairs to shower. She stopped at the door and peeked her head outside to examine the color of the sky. It was the same bright blue as it had been when she was outside earlier, and clouds covered enough to hide the sun for a few seconds before it peaked back out.

She straightened her back and held her chin up to give the illusion that she was braver than she felt. At any moment, the Dark Dimension could try to encourage her dragon to claw its way out. The sun touched her skin again, giving her the warmth she bathed in, and welcomed her to lay below it. She waited for a few minutes while standing at the top of the porch stairs. She only noticed the gentle breeze making the trees sway and hearing the people down below in town. There was no black mist, and the sky maintained its bright blue hue.

Okay. No sign of me being attacked by an invisible force again.

We could always fly around the island.

Why should we do that?
