I twisted my lips and flattened my mouth. “You were a glorified babysitter.”
“No. I was hanging with my best friend’s mate, getting to know him better.”
Flynn came running up to us. “You hungry?”
“I am.” Julius winked. “You got something to feed me?”
I felt my face warm and my eyes grew wide.
“I got a foot long baby. Think you can handle it?” Flynn winked.
“Um.” My eyes blinked, and I pointed towards the dining hall. “I’m just gonna head over and meet Charity.”
My feet carried me away from them, and I hurried towards the building. Bradley sat on the bench outside and I felt his eyes tracking my every move.
“Better hurry, little omega.” His droning voice carried over to me. “Can’t let the big bad wolves get too close.”
Goose pimples rose all over my body and I jogged to the door, whipping it open to enter. His laughter followed me and I walked faster to find Charity.
I hated feeling like a scardy cat.
“Nolan!” she called out and waved me over.
I slid into the booth opposite of her. “Did you know Sebastian’s dads own the vineyard?”
She nodded. “Now that you’re with Sebastian, you know what that means?”
I shook my head and snagged a fry from her tray.
“You will be one of the first to try new wines and taste the batches.” She pushed her tray to the middle of the table. “How cool is that?”
“That’s pretty cool.” I giggled. “I think I owe him an apology.”
“Why would you think that?” Flynn asked coming up to the table. “Char, would you mind sitting with Nolan so I can sit beside Julius?”
“Ugh, only if you promise not to molest him in front of me. That’s gross.” She wrinkled her nose.
“Agreed.”
Charity slid out and moved around to sit beside me as Julius joined us with another tray filled with food.
“How hungry are you?” I asked, looking over all the goodies.
“Whoa, this is to share.” He laughed and set the tray beside Charity’s. “Dig in.”
I reached for a cheeseburger and grabbed a drink. “Julius, you are more than welcome to join us for any lunch!” I teased, taking a huge bite of my burger.
“Damn!” His eyes widened. “If you can open your mouth that far, no wonder Sebastian is so happy!”
We all laughed, and I shook my head.
“What do you mean no?” Flynn sat forward. “You can’t possibly mean that you haven’t done anything with him. I mean, you were in heat!”
“Yeah.” Charity turned to me. “No offence, but your scent isn’t that strong now. What gives?”
I brought my shoulders up into a shrug. “He never tried to do anything more than a little touching.”
Julius spit his drink out across the table, showering his sister. “What?”
