He stopped and reached for my arm. “Do you really hate being an omega?”

“Sometimes.” I frowned and got lost in my thoughts when I smelled the familiar scent of cologne. My body tensed and before I could flee, Simon wrapped his muscled arm around my middle, pulling me back against him hard.

“Well, well, well…” Simon purred against my back and I hated how I couldn’t fight against an alpha’s purr. “Look at my sweet homecoming queen.”

“I’m not yours.” I struggled against his hold.

He leaned over my body and sniffed the air. “Not able to fend me off anymore, little omega.”

“I said, I’m not yours.” I stomped my small foot down on his and smiled when he howled in pain.

He released me, Flynn grabbed my hand, and we ran the rest of the way down the hall, bouncing off of the other students as we made our way out the glass doors.

I took a long deep breath once we hit the outside, and we slowed our pace through the commons. Flynn wove us in between people until we got lost in the crowd.

“That should help for now.” He smiled at me. “I need to go to the library. Wanna come with?”

“Yes!” I breathed out a sigh of relief.

Simon hadn’t followed us. For now, I could relax and enjoy some downtime.

We strolled along the sidewalk with our heads up in the air, scenting. I loved the smell of fall and with the slight chill in the air, hot chocolate never tasted better.

When we arrived at the library, we found a small study room and I dropped my red backpack on the floor. My term paper wasn’t due until the end of the semester, but it never hurt to get started early.

Research calmed me. Which I needed right now. After being invited to the pack run, getting molested by Simon and racing away, my wolf was on edge. I felt stuck between excitement and nerves.

Unable to concentrate, I picked my backpack up and waved to Flynn.

“Wait!” He came over to me. “Are you going to the big game tonight?”

“I don’t…”

“C’mon. It’ll be fun!” Flynn tugged on my arm.

I let out a dramatic sigh. “Fine.”

“Thank you!” He gave me a hug. “I’m meeting Julius after the game. I admit I’m a teensy bit nervous.”

“Why?” I laughed.

“Because he makes my dick hard.” He crinkled his nose while smiling.

“Gotcha.” I nodded. “I’ll be your wingman.” I rolled my eyes playfully. “I just need to go home, grab a shower and a change of clothes, then I’ll meet you by the ticket stand later.”

“Works for me!” He tossed a wave behind him as he went to find a book.

I shook my head and walked towards the door. “What am I getting myself into?”

Coach knew we needed to work off energy, and that’s what he had us do, and then he pushed the Grimclaws to run extra laps.

My wolf clawed at me. He wanted out.Now.No more waiting. I couldn’t pin down what had him so restless. He knew we were running tonight, but something had him ramped up.

“Aarons!” Coach yelled over to the benches where I sat.
