Her head falls back immediately, and her hips buck against my mouth and finger. I pump my hips against the couch, needing friction on my already-hardened cock. Watching her fall apart is the ultimate turn-on. I insert another finger, and her hand tightens in my hair. I flatten my tongue as I pump in and out of her. She begins to ride my tongue and my fingers. Her legs begin to shake, and then she goes completely still as she comes on my fingers.

“Fuck!” she screams. I suck on her clit, extending her orgasm. After a few seconds, she pushes my head away. I lift away from her and remove my fingers. Wiping my hand over my mouth, I crawl up her body until my forehead touches her.

“You are gorgeous when you come,” I say. She blinks and looks up at me with a lazy grin. My cock pushes against her entrance, and her eyes widen. She wraps her legs around my waist, and I push into her as we groan.

“I’ll never get enough of you,” I groan against her neck. She wraps her arms around my shoulder, holding me tight. I suck a hickey into her neck and decide I’ll talk to her later about the will because tonight we won’t get much sleep.

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

BECCA

I WAKEup with a yawn, stretching. I roll over and reach out to Connor. My eyes pop open when my hand comes up empty. He’s rarely awake before me. Sitting up in bed, I glance around before getting out of bed. I stop by the bathroom before heading into the living room. Connor’s voice travels from the kitchen, so I walk in that direction. I stop at the entrance and watch as he paces back and forth.

“So, he’s gone to the next level. Flowers aren’t doing it anymore.” My whole body goes on full alert. Something has happened with Liv. Walking in, he stops pacing, his eyes falling on me. He reaches his arm out to me, and I walk into his embrace.

He kisses the top of my head and holds me tight against him. “Is she alright?” he asks. I try to strain my ears to hear the other side of the conversation, but I don’t hear anything. “Alright. Keep me posted.” He hangs up. Sighing deeply, he wraps his other arm around me and holds me tight.

“What happened?” I ask.

“He found out where she lives,” he says, and my entire body freezes. “He flattened the tires on her car and left her a threatening note on her windshield,” he explains. I want to call her, but I don’t know if she’s ready.

Stepping back, I stare up at him. “Who were you talking to?”

“Julian and Victor. Julian dialed Victor in. I think Victor and Liv are going to stay at Victor’s house. It’s more secure. He has a gate.” I suck in a breath and think about how scared Liv must be feeling.

“I don’t understand his obsession with her. She’s his stepdaughter. Is it because he wants to control her?” I think aloud.

Connor runs his hand through his hair. “I think he did things to her,” he says softly. I step back and think about what he means. I remember the nightmare she had when I stayed at her house.

My hands fly up to my mouth. “No!” I whisper shout.

Connor raises his hands. “I don’t know, but I think it’s more than just him wanting to control her.” His voice is so low I have to strain to hear him. Oh my god. She was abused by the one person she should have been able to trust.

Tears spring to my eyes at the thought. “We have to protect her,” I whisper. Connor wraps his arms around me again and hugs me tightly before turning the coffee pot on.

“We’re doing everything we can,” he promises. He sighs and steps away to grab us both coffee cups. He looks so good in just his boxers. My eyes trail from his broad shoulders to his tapered waist and the beautiful V that disappears at the waistband of his boxers.

All of that is from manual labor. He does work out, but he only comes to the gym to hang out with me. Usually, all he does is cardio. He doesn’t do a lot of strength training. I lick my lips as my eyes trail back up his chest and finally connect with his eyes. He’s watching me with amusement. His lips tip up in a smile, and I realize I’ve been caught ogling. He doesn’t say anything; he just raises an eyebrow. I huff and hop up on the counter while waiting for the coffeepot to finish.

“What do you expect when you walk around like that?” I motion to his almost nakedness. He throws his head back and laughs.

He gestures to his cock, which is hard. “I obviously don’t mind,” he replies as he steps between my legs. “Look at you walking around in a tank top and panties.” He runs his nose up my jaw and cups my head, pulling me into a heated kiss. I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him closer. Before the kiss can lead anywhere, he pulls back slightly, resting his forehead on mine. “We need to talk, Shortcake.” My heart immediately drops to my stomach. Nothing good ever came from that kind of sentence.

He feels me stiffen and leans in, and kisses me softly. “It’s nothing bad. Well, it’s not pleasant.” He contradicts himself. I pull back and tilt my head at him in confusion. He runs his hands through his hair and exhales harshly. “My dad stopped by last night at the construction site.” He pauses. “You know, my mom planned for you to stay with me the whole time.” He gestures between the two of us. “She wanted this to happen. The woman is a genius!” A huff of laughter leaves me as I try to follow his words.

“Your dad stopped by to tell you that?” I ask. He looks confused for a few seconds, and it’s the cutest thing.

He shakes his head. “No. I realized I hadn’t told them about us. I wasn’t trying to hide it, but a lot has happened. Anyway, when I did, he told me Mom had gotten tired of us skirting around each other. Apparently, she saw my recovery as the best time to push us together.”

By the time he gets done explaining, there’s a smile on my face. “She is a genius.”

Connor nods once. “Exactly!” I chuckle, and he smirks at me. “Anyway, Dad came by because Julian went and talked to him. He wound up telling him a bit about what was going on. He put Bailey in his will and added her as a beneficiary to his life insurance. He asked Dad to make sure she gets what is owed her.”

I frown at this information. “Why?” I ask. Fear takes root in my stomach.

Connor takes a deep breath. “Because of what’s going on with Donovan. If something happens to him, he wants to ensure Bailey is cared for even if they aren’t married.” He grabs the coffee pot and pours us both a cup. I start to hop down from the counter to make mine, but he gestures for me to stay where I’m at.

“It got me thinking,” he says as he makes my coffee exactly how I like. I love this man so much. He hands me my coffee and makes his cup, taking a sip. He leans against the counter across from me, his gaze settling on me. “I need to do the same for you. I told Dad I would amend my will and update the beneficiary on my life insurance.” My heart starts beating hard.
