She bit her lip to keep her smile from breaking free. “The dirtiest.”
“Wanna make out in the bathroom when we get there?” I grinned. Her beautiful blues rolled like I was kidding. I wasn’t. “I thought getting you off earlier would’ve calmed you down.”
“I’m pretty sure all that did was get me even more worked up.”
I leaned over as we pulled up to a red light, wrapping my hand around the back of her neck and brought her closer to me. “Another reason to make out in the bathroom,” I rasped against her lips before kissing her softly.
She swatted my chest. “You’re insane. If both of us disappear to the bathroom what will everyone think.” She widened her eyes dramatically before laughing.
“Probably that we’re having aBridesmaidsmoment or that I’m screwing you.”
“See?” She waved a hand between us. “The only options would be to shit yourself or let them know the truth.”
I tapped on the steering wheel. I didn’t want to hide our relationship. Haley was it for me. “Would it be so terrible if they knew?”
Haley worried her lower lip, thinking it over. Finally, after what felt like way too long, she shook her head. “No.”
“So, we can tell them?” Hope flared in my chest.
“After dinner?”
I groaned. “You’re going to make me wait that long to kiss you?”
“You didn’t get enough earlier?”
“Enough of you? Never.”
* * *
“Phoenix. What do you think you’re doing?” I froze as soon as I walked through Mason’s front door causing Haley to grunt when as she ran into my back. I reached behind me and gripped her wrist as she fisted my shirt on the side to keep her balance. My thumb caressed her soft skin once before I released my hold.
I didn’t want to.
I wanted to pull her to my side and wrap my arm around her. Dinner couldn’t get over fast enough. I wanted everyone to know about us.
Officially, that is.
“Daddy!” Nix stomped her foot and walked to the phone that sat on a bookcase in Mason’s living room. She stopped recording and turned on her heel, hands balled at her sides. Face red. “You messed up my video.” The divot between her brows deepened as she scowled at me.
I took a deep breath through my nose trying not to lose my shit. My seven-year-old shouldn’t be dancing like that in front of a camera. “What were you doing?”
“A TikTok video.” She rolled her eyes, the “duh” implied. I shot a glare at Mason who sat on the couch holding Knox.
He chuckled, shaking his head. “Don’t look at me, man. That was all Rylie.”
“What was all Rylie?” Ry asked, walking back into the living room with a kitchen towel thrown over her shoulder.
“Aunt Rylie was teaching me TikTok dances.” Nix crossed her arms and popped a hip.
I pointed at Nix eyes narrowed. “You are too young to be putting video’s on TikTok.” I crossed my arms and widened my stance, staring her down. “Give Rylie her phone.”
Haley’s hand smoothed over my back, relaxing me the slightest bit.
Ry rolled her eyes. “Don’t worry, dad. It’s an old phone that doesn’t even have TikTok and if it did, I wouldn’t allow her to use it.” She walked over, grabbed the phone from the shelf and handed it to me. I let out a deep breath, dropping my chin. How on earth is my girl old enough to know about that stuff? “Besides, what she was doing was normal for a girl her age.”
“Shaking her ass like that is normal?” Okay she wasn’t shaking anything, but that was neither here nor there.
“Sorry, but yeah.” Rylie laughed, patting my chest before walking over to the couch to sit down next to Mason. Haley rested her head against the center of my back, and I could hear her soft laughter. The sound made my cock twitch.
