Hales was fucking hot.

Any man would be stupid to disagree with that, but the way she fit with me? With Nix? The way she laughed. The way she danced. Her dirty jokes. It was impossible not to fall in love with her. I wasn’t going to make a move because I couldn’t handle losing her.

The thought of her not being in my life helped me hide the way I felt. When I found out she felt the same?Fuck.

I started tearing down every wall I’d carefully constructed to keep me from taking things to far with her. And this weekend?

This weekend was everything.

I knew she was still unsure about the Vegas wedding and us dating, but I wasn’t letting her go.

“Where are we?” Haley asked, her voice sexy from sleep. She reached up and wiped under her eye.

“We’re home,” I said, unable to tear my eyes away from her.Breathtaking.Haley was always so put together, but right now? Right after waking up with her hair a slight mess, she was perfect.

Her gorgeous blue eyes connected with mine, a bright smile slowly graced her face. “Hi.” Her cheeks turned a light shade of pink as she bit her bottom lip.

Gripping her chin between my fingers, I leaned over and pressed a quick kiss to her lips, catching her off guard. “Hi.” I mumbled against her mouth before pressing down again. She moaned, melting into me.

“I don’t know that I’ll ever get used to being greeted like that,” she whispered when I pulled away. Her swollen lips and glazed eyes made me feel ten-feet tall.

“Get used to it. It’s going to happen from now on.” I winked.

“Oh, bossy.”

“You haven’t seen bossy, yet.”

Haley’s eyes widened the slightest bit with heat. “Intriguing.”

I smirked, standing to exit the plane. Quickly, I pulled down our carry-on’s. My heart swelled when Hales grabbed her hot pink camera bag from under the seat. Nix picked it out for her last birthday. Even though pink was Haley’s favorite color, I wasn’t sure that it would be Haley’s style, but my daughter was so excited to get something for Haley. I couldn’t help but buy it. I remembered Phoenix bouncing repeatedly on her toes as Haley opened it. Her eyes hopeful that Haley would love it as much as she did.

I don’t know if Hales actually did, but her face beamed brighter than I’d ever seen it when she hugged my daughter. She’s used the bag ever since.

“What are your plans after this?” I asked. Lacing our fingers together, I led us through the tunnel. “Do you have any bags?”

She shook her head silently answering my question as we walked past the baggage claim. “I’ll probably just have Gray take me home and start some laundry and edits.”

I stopped, leaning down, bring us closer together. “Gray isn’t fucking taking you home.”

“Oh, no?” Raising a brow, she cocked her hip to the side defiantly. It drove me made every time she did that.

“Nope. That’s my job.” I pressed a quick kiss to her lips because I couldn’t seem to stop myself. The flood gates had been opened. “Besides I already saw him leave.”

She rolled her eyes, and we started walking again. “Don’t you have to go pick up Nix?”

“Yes. Carrie’s parents have her and I can do that after I drop you off.” I glanced at her out of the corner of my eye, contemplating whether I should ask her to come with me. I wasn’t ready for her to be out of my sight.Fuck it.“You could come with me?”

Panic flashed across her expression. “To Carrie’s parents’ house? Are you sure that’s a good idea? Plus, I really need to start editing and clean.” Her voice was tighter than normal.

“You edit on your laptop, right?”

She hesitated. “Y-yes.”

“Then I’ll take you home. You can grab your computer and come with me.” I squeezed Haley’s hand before dropping it and hooking an arm around her shoulder, tucking her close. She was so fucking short that my arm fell perfectly around her.

She stumbled a bit. “What about my laundry? I hate not unpacking after a trip.”

“It’s already five,” I said, but she just stared at me like I was crazy.Okay, then.“I have a washer and dryer.”
