Blood rushed to my cheeks at the turn of conversation, considering I was just thinking about wanting to be a mom. “Sorry to disappoint you all, but no, I’m not. I just meant that you can’t drink too.” I focused on Ry.

“Oh. I don’t mind. Although, as soon as this little one is out, we will have another girls’ night, and I will have one of those.” She grinned.

“You realize that if you drink, your little crotch goblin will taste that alcohol in your milk.”

“Crotch goblin? Really, Hales?” I sputtered, my drink dripping down my chin as Stacey laughed.

Haley shrugged her shoulders. “Yes, really. Asher said it to Mas the other day, and I thought it was hilarious.”

“I’m aware the baby can’t drink that milk. I’ll pump and dump,” Rylie mumbled around a couple of marshmallows.

Haley nodded, all but dismissing her, and turned toward me. “Back to you.”

“Oh, God,” I groaned. It was never a good thing to have Haley’s attention on you when she’s been drinking. I swear the girl had no filter. Not that she had one any other time of the day, either. “What about me?”

“You hesitated when I asked if you could be pregnant.”

I hesitated then. “No. I didn’t”

Haley smirked. “You did. Just like right now. Stephanie, have you been holding out on us? Have you and Officer Hot Cop gone to pound town and not told us?”

“You’re like a teenage boy, you know that?” I shook my head. My margarita became suddenly much more interesting to look at.

“I thought Mason’s nickname was Officer Hot Cop,” Stacey piped in, looking over at Rylie, who nodded her head in agreement.

Haley waved a hand in the air. “They’re both hot, so they both get to be Officer Hot Cop. Besides, I thought Mason was Officer Dickweed.”

“Oh yes. I remember that. That was hilarious.” Stacey giggled. I’d never seen her drink so much. She was a giggly drunk. This was the first girls’ night that she could actually attend. Any other time we invited her, she had to work. The downside to owning your own business, I suppose.

“Back to you. You and Cam slept together, didn’t you?” Haley wiggled her eyebrows.

“Are you like a bloodhound with people that have had sex?” I asked.

She shrugged. “It’s a talent.”

“Clearly,” I deadpanned.

“So, is that a yes?” She practically bounced in her seat.

“Leave the poor girl alone, Hales,” Rylie said, hitting Haley with the back of her hand. “You don’t need to answer that, Steph.”

“It’s fine. Haley has invested in my relationships since we met.”

“It’s because I love you, and I want you to be the happiest of happy,” she said. She was completely serious. A rarity when we were all together, but the earnest expression on her face made my heart squeeze in my chest. She truly meant what she was saying.

“Now you have to answer her.” Rylie sniffled from her spot on the couch.

“I love you, too, Hales.”

“I know. What’s not to love?” She raised a brow and motioned down her body with the hand not clutching her margarita. I don’t know how I got so blessed with these wonderful girls when I showed up on Rylie’s doorstep, but I was so glad that I was.

“We did sleep together.”

Haley and Rylie both squealed, swatting at each other on the couch. Stacey groaned, pulling all of our attention. “Okay. I love that you and Cam are a thing, but I can’t listen to the next few questions that are going to happen, knowing that it’s my brother. So from this moment forward, Cam shall be referred to as Sheldon.”

A burst of laughter left my lips at Haley’s face. Her eyes popped out of her head as her giddy smile curled down in disgust. “Sheldon is literally the least sexy name you could think of.”

“That’s kind of the point,” Stacey grumbled.
