I dropped the white fabric back on the bed and rubbed a hand over my eyes. “Please tell me I didn’t interrupt you watching porn.”

“You didn’t,” she said and a deep voice laughed near her. “I was watching some series on Netflix.”

“Are you with Asher?”

“Yes.”

“Netflix and chill? I can go.” I didn’t want to interrupt. I also didn’t really want Asher to hear my freak out. Most of the time I reeled myself in, pushing back the self-doubt, but right now it was difficult. I didn’t want to make the wrong choice, because I was starting to really like Cam.More than like.I think it would break me if he changed his mind now.

“Shut up and tell me what you need help with.”

I chewed the inside of my cheek. “I’m riding with Cam in the parade, and we are going out afterward. I don’t know what to wear.”

“So wearing lingerie to answer the door is out of the question?”

I rolled my eyes. “Why did I ask for your help again?”

“I’m guessing Rylie was unavailable.”

“Funny.”

She laughed, and strangely, her sarcasm helped calm me slightly. “I’m kidding. What are your options?”

“Jean shorts, a white lace tank, and flip-flops.”

She hummed in my ear. “Okay. Comfortable, but still cute.”

“The other is a blue sundress.”

“That one,” she said before I even finished the word.

I picked it up and held it to my body. I’d have to go braless. “Are you sure?”

“Is it the halter top that hits mid-thigh with a tie in the middle?”

“Yes.”

“That one. Your tits will look awesome, and it will bring out your eyes. Trust me, go with the dress.” She was so sure. I trusted her judgment.

My shoulder relaxed as I placed the phone on the dresser, slipped the dress over my head, and tied the straps. “Thank you.”

“Of course. Have fun, babe.”

“You too. Use protection.” I joked before I hung up the phone. I never used to joke like that. Jax didn’t like it when I made comments about sex. Especially to other people. I shook the thought and attempted to zip up the short zipper of the fabric that stopped a couple of inches below my shoulder blades. While the dress was a halter top, it didn’t show too much of my back. No more than one of my tank tops would have.

The zipper got stuck as the doorbell rang. I huffed in frustration as I let go of the fabric and went to answer the door. “Hi.” I sighed as I took him in. He should live in his uniform.

“Damn. You look amazing.” He gripped each side of the door frame. “I wanna kiss the fuck out of you right now.”

My heart ricocheted in my chest. Stepping closer, I placed my palm on his chest and went up on my toes to kiss him. Strong hands wrapped around my waist, pulling me against his body. His belt and vest prevented us from getting too close. The fabric of my dress lifted higher on my thighs as his fingers flexed. Breaking the kiss, I took a step back. “I could get used to being greeted like that.”

Cam growled and snagged me around the waist, pulling me back to him. “Only by me, babe.” He nipped playfully at the side of my neck. I stiffened briefly at his possessiveness. Were we moving too fast? No. Stop it, Stephanie.

“This is for you.” He held out a single rose. My knees weakened. Taking it from him, I started to turn but stopped.

“I need your help with something.”

“You name it.”
