I press my hands on my chest, gasping for breath. “How are they all doing this?”
Parker rubs my shoulders. “Once you take off, you’ll have so much fun.”
“The adrenaline rush is addictive,” Lewis agrees.
I give Lewis a thankful smile. Okay, everything will be fine. My guy is here. We’ll remember this moment forever, even though we’re not together yet. One day, we’ll laugh about how I came here with Parker just to get his attention.
My nerves are lowered. When Lewis finally finds out how much I’m absolutely crushing on him, he will swoon and call me adorable.
Lewis gives me a heart-melting smile. “Okay. Who’s next?”
Ten
Jamie and Tyler jogback up the dirt track, while Kai carries Tabitha on his back.
“I’m about to jump again if you guys don’t get moving,” Tyler warns.
I share a look at Yvette. We’ve both been holding up the line because neither is eager to jump.
“Okay,” Parker says with a clap. “Lewis and I will go, and then you girls can follow. Deal?”
Not pleased with having to jump with squealing Yvie, I nod anyway.
Lewis pecks Yvie’s cheek. “See you on the other side.”
The boys take a running start, and as competitive as the race to the waterfall, they spring off the cliff edge. They hit the water with an almighty splash.
Below, they cheer and encourage us to follow.
“Ready?” I ask Yvette.
On shaky legs, Yvie moves beside me. She clutches my hand, and I don’t hate it as we scuff toward the edge.
Parker and Lewis wave from below. Before I can wave back, Yvette has a meltdown.
“No, I can’t do this!” she shrieks, stumbling backward.
