He lifts his hands away and nods.

My heart pitter patters and I peer over Parker’s shoulder, finding Lewis and Yvette standing by the guardrail. Lewis lowers his camera and gives me an approving nod.

Oh my gosh. Lewis took a photo of me?

I grin like an idiot, my mood only souring when Yvie slides a hand behind Lewis’s neck. She turns his gaze away from me, and lays one heck of a kiss on him.

I shut my eyes and turn away.

Parker rubs a hand on my back, whispering, “I don’t know how to get between them. It’s like they’re better than ever.”

“Maybe we should just get out of here,” I reply. “I don’t know if I’ll have any energy left for tonight.”

“I hope they’re not like this tonight, or I’d hate to think how intense they’ll get on the camping trip.”

I give Parker an apprehensive look.

He braces himself. “What?”

I wince. “What exactly do I need to bring for camping? I’ve never been. I’ve never even used a sleeping bag.”

“Not even on a sleepover?”

“No, we had beds.”

“Well, la-di-da,” Parker jokes.

I nudge him. “C’mon, I’m serious. Do I need to buy a tent, or a blow up mattress? Geez, how would I even blow up a mattress?”

“Kylie, stop spiraling.” He grabs my shoulders. “My whole family camps. We’ve got tons of gear. Why don’t we stop by my place before I take you home?”

I give a hopeful smile. “That’d be okay?”

“Sure it would. I know no one else is camping this week, so all the gear will just be sitting there.”

“Okay, then. Cool.”

Parker cups his hands around his mouth, calling out to his friends. “Catch ya later. We’re heading out.”

Tabitha tugs on Kai’s arms. “I’m not staying around with justher.”

There’s a shared glare between Tabitha and Yvette.

Lewis sends us a wave. “See yas tonight.”

I wave back. “Can’t wait.”

Parker smirks. “Eager much?”

I shrug. “Yes.”

He hitches his skateboard under his arm. “Okay, save up that energy. Let’s get back to the car.”
