Page 30 of The Casella King

I stand here at the altar, as Nico points out all the women he’s fucked in the guests, and I roll my eyes. This guy can never be serious for even one moment, but it’s better to have him like this than drunk or high.

“Have you decided who your mistress will be, brother?” He snickers in my ear.

“Fuck off, Nico, not today.” I shrug him off. “Be serious, for just a minute of your slutty life, please.”

“Wow, a please from the King? She must be a good fuck if she’s getting you to say shit like that.” His grin widens, making me want to punch him in his perfect teeth.

The music starts as the guests stand, all of us turning to the large doors of the church, waiting for the bride to appear. My palms start to itch as I shift from one foot to another. It’s an odd feeling, considering I don’t usually react or feel anything anymore.

She appears, and I release a breath I didn’t realise I was holding. I watch as she strides through the doors in a red silky dress, the one I bought for her as an apology for ripping hers. My mouth almost drops just like it did the first night I saw her in it. She’s fucking breathtaking, and she doesn’t know what she does to me. What no one else has ever been able to do for me.

There are a few gasps from the guests watching her walk down the aisle in a non-traditional wedding dress. Looks of disapproval crawl onto their faces, and it just makes me so much prouder of her.

She reaches me, her hands reaching for mine immediately. I give her a supportive wink as she watches me and takes a deep breath in, trying to steady her breath.

The priest begins to recite his words, and all I can think about is her red dress pooled around her waist, hair in disarray, my cock inside her, making her scream my name as I pound into her perfect cunt. I push those thoughts out of my head, realising my dick is now semi-hard.

Someone amongst the guests gasps as a loud bang echoes through the church, making Aries jump. My head snaps toward the large doors of the church to find a man dressed in a blue suit, walking down the aisle.

Does this motherfucker have a death wish?

He reaches the altar and stops, dropping to his knees, and Aries grips my arm so tightly that her nails dig into my skin through my tux.

“Aries, please, don’t marry him.” He looks straight up into her eyes, and although I admire his courage to come here and admit he fucked up, which I’m assuming he’s about to, I can’t walk past the blatant disrespect of walking intomywedding and talking tomywife.

Henry and Nico both point their guns at him as he looks from one to the other, his eyes going wide. I motion to them to lower their weapons because I’m intrigued to hear what he has to say, even if I’ll be slicing his mouth off later.

“Well, go on, what did you come here to say? I think we’d all love to hear it.” I slide my arm around Aries’s waist and pull her into me, watching Ray come up with something to say because I doubt he would have written it down beforehand.

“Aries, I—” he begins, and stops, looking from me to her. “I’m sorry.” A laugh erupts from my throat, a manic, psychotic laugh, and the entire church goes silent as Aries stiffens in my arms.

I step toward him and circle him like a shark would circle its prey.

“So, Ray, let me get this straight. You came here today, to apologise?” I ask.

“No, I came here to ask her not to marry you.”

I nod, pretending to care about why the fuck he came here because he’s not fucking leaving without something that’s broken.

“You object to this union?” the priest asks, and Ray nods.

“You know, I wasn’t particularly in the mood for blood today, and I especially didn’t want to stain the shirt that I will be fucking my wife in later tonight, but I’ve got to ask, are you fucking stupid?” I ask as Aries runs down the steps and grips onto me.

“Ezra, don’t,” she pleads, but it’s no use. My mind is already made up.

I watch as Ray swallows the last piece of courage he had left. Taking out my gun, I aim at his head, directly between his eyes, feeling my grip on my gun tighten in my hand.

His eyes squeeze shut, chest hammering in and out as he makes peace with his fate.

I pull the trigger, screams, gasps, and shrieks filling the church as Ray grips his thigh in pain, wailing around on the floor, looking like a fish out of water.

I wanted to shoot him in the head, but having Aries’s grip on me, I couldn’t, something held me back, and I don’t like it. I don’t like the sort of control this woman is beginning to have over me.

“Let it be known whoever has an issue with this union, has an issue with me. Take this as a warning, that if you so much aslookat my wife with disrespect, you will be met with the barrel of my gun, and the next time I pull the trigger, it will be directly into your skull.” I talk to the entire church, with my last words aimed at Ray. “I don’t give second chances often, so I suggest you take it.”

I walk back up the stairs, pulling Aries with me. A few people begin to help Ray up, and I turn around to them, giving them a look they know not to fuck with.

“He can watch.” A smirk plays on my lips as he continues to cry in pain. Aries looks to Ray, then to me, and I can’t decipher what she may be thinking. I’ve either lost her trust completely by showing her exactly who I am, or she’s captivated with the power that comes with being a Casella.
